Well the wine tasting was a success! We all really enjoyed it. I hosted it but had it at a friend's apartment because she lives closer to everyone than I. We had six ladies who attended and six bottles of wine. We all brought a bottle of red wine for this one. I would love to have another one this Spring with white wine. We all learned a lot about wine and each other thanks to Kira (Tangarang)! Enjoy the pictures and please let me know if you have any questions about having one of your own. This was taken before all of the bottles arrived. We all sat around this ta... |
I meant to share this wine etiquette tutorial created for A Cup Of Joe last week to ensure none of us committed any party fouls on New Years Eve. Unfortunately, I never got around to it in time. Even though the holidays are now over it's worth sharing as - after all - it never hurts to brush up on your social etiquette. The illustrations (by Gemma Correll) are pretty damn adorable, too. The tutorial can be found here. Cheers!(Illustrations by Gemma Correll for A Cup Of Joe).... |

ta·pas a. light snacks or smaller meals, usually eaten with drinks b. (as modifier) a tapas bar [from Spanish tapa cover, lid]I love tapas! My problem when I go to a restaurant is I can't decide what I want - everything sounds good! Tapas are little mini meals, so you can try a bit of everything without looking like a piggy. :) Some people mistake tapas for appetizers, when in fact, tapas are not starters. Carol is hosting a bridal shower in July at a winery, but wanted custom labels to put on each bottle in honor of the bride. The bridal shower theme is "garden", so Carol wanted to use pinks and greens as her colors but really wanted the label to have a WOW factor. These labels are compatible with an Avery template, so all Carol has to do is print them out then stick on each bottle! Pretty easy :)... |
I recently went to a fantastic wine tasting with an unusual twist (literally) - twist-off tops! No wine corks here; I also learned that more and more wineries are turning to twist-offs as it reduces spoiled wines from bad corks! Here are a few wines I really enjoyed:Juno - an earthy red (Cab/Shiraz/Merlot) from South Africa www.junowines.com and the label is beautiful! About $9/bottle. This wine has a rich flavor but mellows and is quite light.Happy Camper Chardonnay (California) - a fun and light summertime wine - very buttery and a bit tangy; perfect for a warm summer night or garden party -... |

A resources link can be found at the bottom of this post to aid in your own eco-wine search.Cooper Mountain Vineyards Organic Pinot Noir.
