Filed under: Pre-Ceremony PartiesA lot of bridal shower games are made for women. Here's a fun one if your shower will include the men. It's called "Chick Flicks vs. Action Movies" and it's a girls against guys game. The organizer has a list of recognizable quotes from well-known movies, divided into chick flicks and action lists. The girls team has to identify the quotes from the action list, and the guys team has to identify the chick flicks. At the end of a timed period, the team who correctly matched the most movies with their quotes wins. You can create the game on your own, or you ca... |
Yes, Games. In several previous posts I have promised to write about incorporating games into your wedding celebration. I know that the idea of playing a game is frowned upon by many brides and professionals alike, just as I used to feel the same. Words such as tacky, corny or cheesy came to mind when I’d think of playing a game at a wedding reception. It was not until recently that I had the opportunity to work with Megan and Matthias, that my perception has changed. Matthias, his family and friends are from Germany and it was very important to him and Megan to incorporate some Germa... |

I am still remembering the great time me and my ladies had at the bridal shower. They all competed for the best designed TP Bridal Gown. I was the judge and MOH was the moderator and timekeeper. I didn’t realize the ladies would get so serious about the game. The competition was tough and it obviously made my decision more challenging. The rules were simple. You got to design and assemble a TP dress with no glue, tape or adhesive. The models were standing very still and tried to be patient while the designers worked effusively against time. They only had 10 minutes to create their ... |
Fancy tea cakes, pretty lingerie gifts and…toilet paper? There are those classic bridal shower games, and some cheesy ones as well, that you are bound to see at every shower. As you plan your event, consider games that you know the bride to be, and guests, would actually enjoy playing! We’ve compiled a list here of a few games that could be very entertaining. Banned words can include anything wedding related,... |
My bridal shower is on Saturday and I’m soooooooooo excited! We are using the event to have the attendees help me make the decorations for the wedding venue. We’ll be constructing flowers made out of paper napkins from IKEA in various colors – white, red and blue. Along with the crafting we’ll be playing some games, of course. I found a few games on the internet that I’d like to play – here’s what we’ll be doing - Bridal Shower Games Who knows the Bride Best: Only the Bride to be fills out an info sheet on herself (favorite food, restaurant, pet, number of tattoos, etc…) she ... |
If you follow my @aisledash Twittter feed then you read that I was at a bridal shower over the weekend. It was at tea party at Lady Mendel's in Manhattan. One of the games the bridesmaids planned was bridal themed Scattergories. It was a lot of fun - I love Scattergories, and I won! Here's how it works:Come up with a list or 8-10 categories and then use the first letter of the bride's name and the groom's name for the two rounds. We only had time to score one round so another idea is to play one round and use the first letter of the bride's name or the first lette... |
