More Vintage Save the DatesI got an e-mail yesterday from Suzy in Los Angeles, who used a vintage postcard from their venue to create save the dates! She actually made two cards, one with the date information and another with travel info and a blank back. She addressed the blank side of the postcard, and then combined both postcards in a clear envelope & mailed them. Vintage Save the DatesNobody who knows me would ever say my style was vintage. It's sort of a mish-mash of modern meets athletic meets preppy. A combo of Charlotte and Sporty Spice. That being said, I absolutely love black and white movies, sepia toned photos and really cool retro antiques. Save the DatesSave the dates are informal notices sent out to guests to “save the date” of your upcoming wedding! Basically, only a few pieces of information are necessary: your names, the date, and city of event. In some cases, the venue is mentioned if already booked. I inform my brides and grooms to send them out about 9-12 months before the big day so that guests are able to plan ahead, request time off from work, and get their flights and hotel rooms booked. Vintage postcards are so lovely. Loi & Jon are planning their wedding Rhode Island & wanted to feature the iconic Mount Hope Bridge on their save the dates because guests will cross this bridge when they travel to the wedding. Loi wanted the save the date to look like a vintage postcard with a bit of a modern touch. She found a vintage postcard of the bridge which I paired with a vintage image of roses.
