this is a wonderful idea--paper pom-poms covering the ceiling and dangling lanterns to create such a whimsical atmosphere and not to mention an ingenious way to cover unsightly stains or wires! tomorrow i have a wonderful announcement and i can't wait to share with you what is coming up for next week! enjoy your wednesday.{image source} ... |
I went to a local pub for dinner last night, the Benjamin on Franklin and was struck by the installation in the dining room. Suspended from the ceiling were over 1500 pieces of clear pressed glass including compotes, cake stands and bowls. The effect was quite stunning...Pressed glass is easy to find in bric-a-brac stores or on sites like Etsy and eBay if you'd like to consider your own dramatic installation. A collection en masse on a sideboard would look equally as impressive.Posted by Jane Cameron... |
I don't know wether to drool over that insanely perfect plum ceiling or the incredibly scrumptious painted floor pattern. Oh someone needs to hide the paint brushes because I am ready to go to town on our little apartment.Image via Sara Story Design by way of Coco + Kelley ... |

Here we are…109 days to go until our wedding day! We are so excited, and also so, so stressed. There is so much to consider, and the 3-month mark seems to be a pretty busy one in terms of wedding planning! I’ll make sure to keep you all posted on the upcoming decisions! One of the aspects we’ve been considering lately, as we start to really hone in on what we want for the decor of our venue, is the ceiling, of all things! Photo via Jared Wilson Photography The ceiling is really the last thing I would have thought of in terms of decorations. However, it seems to bring SO much to a venue... |
We approached a reception decor plan much the way we approached our ceremony decor plan. The reception would take place across the street from the ceremony in a tented area that leads out onto the Sound. We were dealing with a standard white tent, and wanted to incorporate three big things: color, pattern, and personal touches. We’d keep costs down by reusing elements from the ceremony and making as many of the elements ourselves that we could. I knew from the start that I wanted patterned tablecloths, and found out two things very quickly: local rental companies didn’t offer patterns, and... |
. . . an unrestrained adoration of pink and pretty things, of sequins and tulle, ruffles and lace -- and suddenly, rather enamored with a decidedly masculine space -- crisp walls and pale floorboards, window shutters and cozy bedding, but most of all, the wonderful natural elements -- ceiling beams and wood night table, and especially, the enormous bouquet of delicate spring blossoms . . .{image: fric and frac via absolutely beautiful things}{this is glamorous} on facebook & follow on twitter copyright © 2007-2011 {this is glamorous} all rights reserved... |

I’ve never really been that interested in cooking. It’s only cropped up recently since getting married. I’ve always been way more interested in something else. POWER TOOLS. Maybe it was watching too much Home Improvement as a kid, one too many episodes of shows on HGTV as a teenager, or perhaps getting lost on Ana White’s website. In any case, power tools and the prospect of building or making something put a smile on my face. I actually enjoy wandering the aisles of Home Depot and pulling dozens of paint chips for the some day color of my walls. Well, my family was vis... |
