• Aloha Buds and Buddies, Dudes and Dudettes! Just dropping you a note to say hi to all of you.  Tuberose Dude and I are oh, just about three and a half months till the big day in June.  To be more specific, 108 days!  You’d think I’d be all set by now but as with most major events and projects, there’s always going to be something to be done.  Still, at the tail end of our planning, I have loads of ideas, specifically DIY projects, which I’m excited to share with you all. Some background info, in my favorite writing style: lists! Our wedding theme: “Live, Love, Laugh.” H...

It may not seem like this venue site could be "Plan B", but it is. The end result was perfection. Lara's family home was a spectacular venue.  How about Brittany's gorgeous bouquet!? It included four different varieties of orchids, various succulents, mini white calla lilies, ranunculus, tulips, freesia and tuberose (which smell Heavenly!) and mini white seashells tucked into the petals.  The stems were wrapped in natural burlap and mother of pearl and silver charms. What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? It didn't seem like we were r...

I am welcoming the weekend with open arms. What an exhausting week! Before I begin a giant project next week, I am hoping to soak up some time for organizing, resting and relaxing. Here's an outtake from a little shoot I had a few days ago. I practiced self control at the flower market which was difficult after sniffing blown open freesia blossoms, tuberose, and gardenia plants, gazing at an orange tree and imagining it for my kitchen, and going crazy for some oversized yellow chrysanthemums. I don't have shopping sprees for clothes but flowers and cheese get me almost every time!  ...

If you love flowers, and umm, who doesn’t, you’re gonna love this next little beauty from the good old Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It’s so overflowing with amazingly beautiful flowers that I can practically smell the tuberose and hydrangea from here! Captured by the super talented Eric Limón, this wedding is sure to make you a wee bit jealous of its gorgeousness. Head to the gallery, but don’t say I didn’t warn you! See entire image gallery here! Filed under: Relationships, Flowers, CeremoniesLots of weddings include a special part of the ceremony specifically designed to symbolize the joining of two families. Some couples use unity candles, others have a handfasting ceremony, and others might have a family lei exchange. In the lei exchange, the bride and groom take turns adorning their new in-laws with leis, with the maid of honor and best man or other attendants holding the leis for the ceremony until it's time to use them. This is a great job for a child attendant. Instead of or in addition to flower girls and ring bearers, you ca...

Filed under: Fashion, Flowers, FavorsWhen you have your wedding on the beach, you can dress and accessorize however you like. Many couples opt to wear the same formal attire that they'd wear in a church wedding, and others go a lot more casual. You can wear anything from a skimpy bikini to a traditional big white dress -- you have tons of options. The same is true for your flowers. Lots of beach brides and grooms opt against traditional boutonnieres and corsages in favor of something a lot more beachy -- the lei. Leis can be the perfect accessory for the bridal party, and they also make gre...
