As far as I'm concerned I can't see this film soon enough. Based on reviews and this beautiful trailer, the story of The Tree is touching, the cinematography is breathtaking, and the acting is phenomenal. Isn't Morgana Davies (who plays the adorable Simone) brilliant? The final line featured in this trailer is sheer perfection: "Well, you have a choice to be happy or sad. And I chose to be happy. And I am happy." Although it is already available on DVD in Australia, it is in theatres in North America this summer. Check out The Tree homepage for dates in your city....

Here's a craft you can definitely express your creativity with.  What an easy, fun way to decorate your home or party for Halloween.  Candy Trees All you need are styrofoam cones (you can purchase at Michael's or local craft store), hot glue gun and assorted Halloween candies.  You can also wrap the trees in coordinating ribbon.  For a spookier tree, wrap in cobwebs.  The possibilities are endless.   (photo from allyou.com)...

I squealed today. Yes, it does happen often. Yes, even in public. I get excited...easily. But obviously...this wedding tree idea is the most scruptious design I've seen in a while and therefore a squeal was more than appropriate.Thank you .c is for charmed for posting such a treat! • Look at what our very own Brandon has stumbled across: mybabytree.org! How do baby trees tie in to weddings? Well, this is really for you tree lovers and green people out there! If you think the “wedding favor” is just too cliche, but would like to help out… oh, say… the planet, think about planting a tree for each of your guests or each family invited to your wedding. The benefits: -Helping to undo the damage humans have caused on the earth -Doing something nice for the world -Helping to support the economy -It’s something your littlest guests can track (who knows, perhaps it c...

We just love this new take on the time-honored tradition of guest books. Create a wish tree for your guests to leave best wishes. Not only are the cards great for scrapbooking memories, but the tree is dazzling in any reception area. Make sure to give your guests directions and use special lighting on the wish tree for a more dramatic effect. Your guests will love the interaction of pinning or tying their personal wish to the limbs of your wish tree. These cute custom cards really reflect the couples' personality! The days of one pen, one book and one long line are over! By placing the cards a...

Ok, so this post has nothing to do with weddings but everything to do with the holidays… and great style. I am fortunate enough to have lots of really talented friends who constantly inspire me. One of those friends is Darryl, a graphic designer and stylist who has a self-confessed obsession with the holiday tree. Among Darryl’s many extensive collections (one of which, by the way, includes the most lovely cake plates you’ve ever seen… but that’s another story…) is an enormous collection of exquisite ornaments which he uses to create the most beautiful and inspiring miniature trees...

This year marks the 75th Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony. Last night's tree lighting ceremony was just the jump start I needed to get me in the (next) holiday mood. 30,000 environmentally friendly lights lit up the night like tiny crystals sparkling again the skyline. What a beautiful idea. With December's arrival, ornaments of all kinds are on display. I'm saving the Hallmark ones for the Christmas tree. But I love the idea of tree trimming at my reception. Above, Manzanita branches—spray-painted silver, and dripping with crystal ropes—sit atop a special champagne bar (or escort card s...
