Even if the cold season doesn’t offer you too many opportunities and options when it comes to organizing a wedding all, such weddings can be extremely precious. You can use a symbolic theme of the winter season or you can rely on this part of the year as it is. Try emphasizing all the fortes and realize a fairytale atmosphere in your wedding day. In order to create a really special atmosphere you can sculpt in ice the bar or where the drinks are taken for. A drink that can be considered as being ideal for this landscape is indeed a ice cosmopolitan, vodka and maybe white cranberry juice. O...

  • I have found that many of the most beautiful weddings have a central theme that is carried throughout the entire wedding process.  These themes unify all the elements of the wedding: the save-the-date, invitation, decor, programs, escort cards, favors, etc. There are many possibilities for creating a theme.  Some can be very evident like a monogram or a certain color.  Some brides who are having destination weddings like to incorporate elements from the location, for example beaches or mountain.  Other themes can be less obvious but just as personal. When I talk with a bride and groom,...

The Kiss by Gustav Klimt, 1908I've never really considered myself a "theme" girl. When I think "theme" I think prom...or my little sister's birthday parties...or college parties. Weddings and theme were never thought of as hand in hand.Until I was having a convo with one of my old college girlfriends a couple years ago and she was gushing the details of her upcoming nuptials. She squealed to me that her "theme" was sophisticated elegance - I chortled (I actually use to do this for real...it's in remission) - I didn't know she was serious. I had no idea that that was considered a theme. Ar...

  • The only theme behind Sarah and Dominick’s wedding was to be themselves, to rock out and of course to not hide their tattoos! As photographer Lindsey revealed: The wedding had no theme.  It was simply a young, hip, tattoo covered couple.   What really made this wedding rock was the fact that the bride and groom were both tattoo covered (complete with each inking the other’s name on their arms) and they were completely in love.  The bride and groom, as well as myself, are complete individuals in word and deed.  Therefore it was a perfect fit.  The venue was a simple restaurant in Pri...

  • I was browsing through my wedding follow list on Twitter and stumbled across this blog post on Bride Tide. It got me thinking about party themes especially since we’ve been discussing my sister’s bridal shower. Check out the blog post to read about this party theme (Photo from The Bride Tide Blog) Since I can’t throw all of these parties and I’m just bursting with theme ideas, allow me to burst here in a blog. Engagement Parties: Image from: newluxuryitems.com, painting by Jack Vettriano These don’t typically get themed but I’m considering throwing a “Tying the Knot” part...

  • How many of you have a theme song?We all have one, even if we don't realize it. You know what it is. It's the song you put on before you walk into a situation that you have to prepare for like a meeting, game, Sunday night dinner at your in laws....Here's mine. Whenever I am heading to a consultation, this is blasting in the car! What's yours? ...

This is post 200 for my little precious blog. That calls for quite an important post....filled with pretty images, of course! So here it goes.My dear friends, we are in need of a theme. Ok, not really, but I want one. Be it not for wedding blogs, I wouldn’t have become almost obsessed with the idea of a themed wedding. These are the main culprits:Breakfast at Tiffany's: (Martha Stewart) School Days: (Snippet & Ink) Others:Behind the Library Stacks, Ridin' Together , Watchin' Airplanes, and because you all know I love fall and halloween and pumpkins there is this gem from Snippet & In...

When there isn't a theme to a wedding, I almost always create one. Lauren and Justin's monogram is so unique with the small letters and orchid in place of an initial or ampersand. All of the pieces in this invitation came so quickly. Lauren was wonderful in trusting that I could make this one tiny element the cohesion that brought all of her invitation and future reception pieces together. Her postcard is absolutely one of my favorites, and she told me she gasped when she saw the proof.;) To see the entire set, click here....

  • As we’re putting our site together and now thinking about our own wedding, Alex and I have combed through countless numbers of photos from different weddings, different bridal magazines and a wide range of events.  Some photos capture the essence of the event; others the personality of the couples, and a few manage to do both. Through my research, I came across the photographer Max Wanger (http://www.maxwanger.com) , whose pictures forego the staged family photo around the cake, but include a series of moments caught on film.  I asked him for permission to share his site and photos with...
