Here are some images of the tent at The Abbey, and pictures of the private patio outside of it. The patio is towards the back, we were told there are usually some lights out there with high-top tables that can be decorated!...

That is the question we get so often!  Tents ensure that your outdoor event will be a success, come rain or come shine. (Or snow and sleet! ) In the sweltering summer months, we love to create fabulous tented parties and outdoor air-conditioned rooms (if preferred) that provide your guests and our flowers with hours of comfort!   But, every so often, Mother Nature offers up the gift of a perfect summer evening.  On those rare occasions, when we are lucky enough not to tent,  magic can happen under the stars! Below are a few beautiful photos of a wedding we planned and d...

Tented receptions have always been a fascination of mine.  Tents have the power to transform a space, incorporate themes and bring a more private dining experience to your wedding guests. Many brides shy away from using tents because they could bring an undesirable “commercial” look to a wedding. Don’t be scared, just do your homework! Before you pop up a huge white tent, you may want to consider the new trends of using tents. Here are a few of my tips on tented reception ideas: Trend #1: Indoor Tents. A tent around each table can create more intimate dining area for your guests and can...

Last week I featured Boutique Tents, and you all fell in love! But, let me tell you about another tent I’m obsessing over…the Sperry Tent. Made of sailcloth and pine poles, the Sperry Tent is characterized by its high peaks, waving pennant flags and rounded corners. Our clients are just as in love with these little beauties as we are. Locally we work with Skyline Tent Company, who provided the images for this post. {images courtesy Skyline Tent Company}...

The boutique tents were so popular last week, I thought I’d share another tent that’s a favorite of mine…the Sperry Tent. We used a Sperry from Skyline Tent Rental a few weeks ago at Tuckahoe Plantation. Sperry Tents are made of sailcloth and their poles are made of pine. Add some candle light to the mix and the Sperry Tent will feel radiant and warm. {images courtesy Skyline Tent Company}...

People feel one of two ways about tents: Love or Loath.  To some they are big, complicated things that need to be gussied up a ton, and are a necessary obstruction from the open air that would otherwise be avoided.  To other people, they are exciting, blank canvases. I probably would put myself in the latter category, a tent lover.  To me tents evoke a sense of fantasy, especially in the right setting and well… with the right tent.  Let’s face facts, not all tents are created equal. Some have horrible ugly poles, most need a tent liner, but then not everyone likes that draping, romanti...

Being in Florida, we get a lot of requests for outdoor weddings.  It's common to find ceremony space outside, but planning an entire reception outdoors carries a lot of weather risk.  So what do we do?  Rent a tent and depending on the season, have air conditioners or heaters on standby.      Tented weddings can be ballroom-style grandiose, or quaint and outdoorsy.  You can play up the natural surroundings or bring the inside out and add chandeliers, carpet, and furniture.  The wonderful thing about tented weddings is that you begin with a blank slate in which to create y...

Blogger: Brittany Blando Photography by: © Sherrell Photography Do you have your sights set on a wedding under a tent? Before you rush out to rent a tent for your big day, you have some things to consider. Having a wedding under a tent has its pros and cons. Sure, a tent allows you to be outside, but even summer nights in New England can be cool. Renting space heaters should be considered—especially if you have a seaside reception. You also want to think about getting a tent with side flaps. That way, if it’s windy or rainy (or both) you can have some sort of protection from the element...

I still have some anxiety about our tent looking "sterile" so when I see pictures like this I am so encouraged! I can't remember where I found this one, but I really like it - mostly because the top of this tent also has those awful beams, and the lanterns really do seem to cover them up (or at the very least distract from them). I could do without the palms lining the sides of the tent, but I love the green and white!...
