As a little girl I remember being frightened by sunflowers. I found it very strange and daunting that a flower grew to such a large size. I mean how is it possible that a flower can be taller than you? But now I am much older {unfortunately not any taller} and have taken a liking to these bright and bold beauties! I really enjoy seeing them with purple! Image Credits: Wedding Rings, Boutonniere, Cupcakes, Bridal Party, Vase, Suitcase, Bouquet... |

Hi Buds! A funny thing happened during our wedding planning. I took so much care and consideration planning the reception and decor, that I didn’t give much thought to the ceremony itself! Our goal was to have a simple, beautiful ceremony in a natural setting. To make this happen, we chose to have our ceremony on the golf course where our reception was also being held. We found a location that was secluded, yet close to the parking lot, and far enough away from flying golf balls! The only decor items added were the 4 urns of flowers, which allowed the beautiful trees that hung over the gues... |
I’m so happy to share some details from our reception! You will recognize things we have been talking about for the last year on this blog. The flowers were all done by a local flower shop, Colonial Flowers. All of the paper goods were done by yours truly of course. (I never want use a paper cutter again, EVER) We used black table linens and black chair covers to create a dramatic setting to show off the beautiful white and green flowers. My MOH’s bouquet: I made the seating cards myself. The front had the person’s name and meal choice. The back side had our wedding ‘logo’ and thei... |

I used to go to the counter at Belk and spray that bad boy all over. When I finally saved up $35 I went and bought myself a bottle. I saw it on sale at Walgreen’s the other day for $7.99. Oh my. But I digress. With Spring creeping up I am in the mood for cakes with happy flowers that make me think of sunshine and long nights. Even though the flowers on this cake have more of a fall themed hue I th... |
