Starfish Escort Cards - perfect for nautical or beach themed weddings.... |
Hello dearies! When you host a seated dinner there are two types of cards to consider: escort cards and place cards.Escort cards are a must if you're hosting a large seated dinner {i.e. more than one table}. They go on display in a place that is easily accessible to guests during cocktail hour. They communicate one crucial piece of info: what table your guests are to sit at during dinner. If you're doing a traditional tented card, the name goes on the outside and the table number goes on the inside {see the first image}. There are lots of variations on escort card design but be sure to include... |

As I get ready to kick off “wedding season” this weekend (stay tuned to see the pictures later this spring!), I cannot stop thinking about how the small, thoughtful details really set an event apart from the rest. These escort card ideas are unique, stylish and inspiring. What are you doing for your wedding? Has anyone seen a display that they loved? ... |
We decided to go with the wishing rock idea for the escort cards, and once again Michele Clark came through with some beautiful calligraphy for the cards!I can hardly wait to see how they look all laid out on the table! The large glass container for the rocks will be in the middle, then there will be two hydrangea arrangements on either end. It is so surreal to see it all finally coming together...... |
They completely stump me. I've gotten as far as deciding that we're going to only do table assignments, not individual seats. My Mom is making a runner for the escort card table (which will be a 6ft table) so we've got that covered. I know where the table will be placed in the tent. I've even found a calligrapher to write each card for a really reasonable rate. What stumps me is how to display those suckers on the table! Originally, I liked the idea of hanging cards from a "tree" (or multiple trees) like this idea via Style Me Pretty: And then we attended a wedding that executed a similar idea... |
Our escort cards were printed on the back with a quote from Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms: At night, there was the feeling that we had come home, feeling no longer alone, waking in the night to find the other one there, and not gone away; all other things were unreal... We were never lonely and never afraid when we were together.... |
Escort cards... I hadn't even given them more than one thought until the other day (and even since then my thoughts on them have been minimal - must make it past the save-the-dates first). After a quickie-search these caught my eye....Don't the butterflies just have a lighthearted feel to them? And I like this matching set for table numbers and escort cards - very sweet. Maybe I can use something like this for the rehearsal dinner... or it could be cute at the bridal shower (are you reading this Lara?)From the Etsy shop of TimelessPaper... |

This is an area where there are so many options for brides and grooms to choose from, it can really make deciding what to do make your head spin! First let’s talk about the difference between place cards and escort cards. I feel that many times people use the place cards to describe both, but really they are different and have different functions. Escort cards are usually the cards you see in a display, set up in neat little rows or hanging on the branches of a Manzanita tree. They function of the escort card it to give the guests information about what table they have been assigned to. The ... |
