Still think snapdragons are the floral cousins of Venus fly traps? Silly Bridezilla! Watch this clip of Miss B interviewing the creators of Snapdragon, a twisty new hair product (and neat bridesmaid gift idea) made by twins who studied millinery in Britain. Interesting! ...

  • Today’s post is dedicated to my Nana “Wales” – called so because um… she is from Red Dragon country (she has been called that since I could talk and it kind of stuck, she even refers to herself as that now bless) My Nana met my Grandpa on the bus. Literally. He was the bus driver and she hopped on with her sister Milly and announced something to the effect of “He’s a bit of alright”…. and the rest as they say is history. My Grandpa passed away over twenty years ago and my Nana has been on her own ever since. That’s an awful long time to be by yourself isn’t it? When I ...

  • 2011-06-02T06:30:40Z The BrokeAss Bride

Remember how I said I was done with my fruit-spiration posts….two weeks ago? I’m not. I can’t help myself. I was at the store this past week when spotted the section of exotic fruits. I’ve seen dragon fruit before, but it’s never looked too appealing. This week though it was bright fuchsia pink and lime green and it was so gorgeous I just had to buy a piece and taste it. I told my boyfriend that I *needed* the fruit and he begrudgingly bought it for me. He wasn’t too thrilled that it was 10 dollars. Yes, I spent ten dollars on this piece of fruit (the things I do in the name of re...

  • Today, having a tattoo is pretty common. I have one. When I was four and getting ready for my preschool graduation, I told my pre-K teacher that I wanted to be a tattoo artist when I grew up. While it turns out that I didn’t grow up to be a tattoo artist, my affinity for tattoos has not wavered from what my four year old self imagined. If acting didn’t frown on having large of tattoos, I’m sure I would have more. I have always wanted to have a traditional Chinese dragon that covers my back. Being born the year of the dragon in the Chinese Zodiac and having a close relationsh...

  • Orchid Boy plays keyboard in this pretty awesome cover band called The Party Dragons. A couple of years ago Orchid Boy and his musician friends decided to get together and put on a one-time-only show featuring some 70s funk, 80s…whatever you call that…and some random Beach Boys stuff. They rehearsed a total of maybe, I dunno, 10 times within a few weeks and went on stage at their local dive. The show was kickass. Everyone had an awesome time and they played amazingly well considering how few times they actually got together. Orchid Boy  had brought up the idea of having the band p...

  • This is not a book review. This is a real-life story about friendship, loyalty and courage. You see, I have had my very own lady with a down-the-back dragon tattoo since I was sixteen years old, long before I had ever heard of Stieg Larsson. This lady is one of my best girls Maria (also know as “Naughty” for various reasons that will become apparent), one of the bravest, brightest, and funniest people I have ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. Maria and I met whilst working at Morgan – a now-bankrupt fashion label that was a concession in our city centre House of Fraser. ...

  • 2010-05-25T05:55:18Z OMG -- I AM GETTING MARRIED

So this post has been a long time coming, however, it was put on hold until after my recent visit to the Paper Dragon offices in Brunei last week. The company is new to the wedding industry but I don’t think they will have any problems fitting in. Each card is a limited edition composition as the pieces are hand made and designed with unique embellishments and trinkets from Japan, China, Thailand, India, the Philippines and Brunei. Inspiration for Paper Dragon’s un...
