This is the second year that we have been privileged to work with Dena and her staff of San Diego Style Weddings for their Issue Launch Party. The who’s who of  San Diego wedding vendors were there to indulge in fine food,  spectacular entertainment and inspired design. As in all years past, guests were asked to bring a toy for Toys for Tots to be collected upon entrance.  Marines were in attendance to collect over 500 toys from the event. The Loews Coronado Bay Resort offered the majestic coastal setting for this Nantucket inspired event.  The views from the terrace were endless. We h...

  •   Hi everyone, Things have been super crazy around here getting ready for our 2012 wedding season, I haven’t even had the chance to blog about the Ultimate Wedding that I was chosen to design last year.  The wedding took place in late January and it was such a warm and beautiful day. I really poured myself into making sure that this was a wedding that accomplished the three goals that *most* couples have when planning their Big Day- 1.That the guests have a great time, 2.) That there are wonderful vendors who come together and ensure a seamless day, and 3.) That everything l...

A few web sites will help to answer your questions about your outdo...

  • Fresh back from a stag/stagette weekend at the cottage, I thought I’d keep with my outdoorsy frame of mind and share this adorable San Diego backyard wedding shot by the lovely Rachel Thurston. There’s no shortage of charm and family, communal spirit in this outdoor wedding party. Brooke and Luke, our bride and groom, shied away from the traditions of a typical wedding and spiced up their day with ice cream and party games.  Talk about a jam!  I really love how much fun the kids are having at this wedding.  A day they’ll be sure to remember for a long time… Brooke’s own thought...

This bride is a striking modern day Elizabeth Taylor! Elizabeth (A coincidence they have the same name? I think not!) and Daejin celebrated their hot and lively wedding at the Hilton San Diego Resort overlooking the bay. Bridesmaid wearing magenta dresses walked down the aisle with colorful bouquets of roses and orchids, while the bride carried a timeless combination of gardenias and spray roses. Guests were awed and electrified when they entered the reception. Dynamic centerpieces overflowing with magenta roses, pink majolica, fuschia makara and phaleanopsis orchids were set on vibrant sat...

Are you considering having a non-traditional wedding cake for your upcoming wedding? Cupcakes are still a hot trend these days. They don’t require cake cutting or even plates and can be a sweet, decorative alternative to a traditional wedding cake. We can think of at least two shops in San Diego that cater specifically to the cupcake crowd. Heavenly Cupcake in Downtown San Diego offers favor boxes and cupcake towers for your wedding so you can serve the cupcakes as either dessert or as a special treat for your guests to take home with them and savor for later. Some of their tantalizing flav...
