Back in February, we talked about predicting wedding trends and how the Marie Antoinette, baroque, lavish look is going to be all the rage during the next one to two years.Part of the problem with being an early adopter when it comes to wedding style is that a lot of options aren't yet readily available, or at least not available without an unlimited budget. Rental companies (much like large department stores) do not want to risk a purchase until they know it is going to be successful, so if you want to adopt a decor style early on in its course, it means you will have to purchase almost all ... |

Thanks to Danielle over at Oh Happy Blog! for reminding me of Suite 206 luxury rentals. I've long been a fan of pretty much everything that comes out of this company, but they completely slipped my mind when I was putting together the post about Baroque-style rental elements. Here are some more luxe and Marie Antoinette-inspired products currently on the market, and all found at Suite 206. They are always ahead of the curve when it comes to adopting styles. Note that some of these items are not necessarily 100% Baroque - they do however have enough of the style architecture that they can be ... |
Blogger: Melanie Brooks Photography by: © BKB Photography I'm a lucky bride—the historic inn where I am getting married this fall has wonderful tables, gorgeous chairs, and all the linens I need for my big day. Other people aren't so lucky. There is nothing worse than getting all dolled up in a cocktail dress and heels only to sit in a cheap plastic (or metal) folding chair at a wedding. But you don't have to! You can rent gorgeous chairs at a number of places in the Boston area. We especially like these ballroom chairs because you can get cushions in colors that match your we... |
In a previous post, I mentioned how the use of furniture groupings not only enhances the look of a "typical" wedding reception, but also offers some glamour and respite for enthusiastic yet weary dancers adjacent to the dance floor. For this particular on trend wedding that I designed in collaboration with AFR Event Furnishings and Tommy Murphy with Greenery Productions we used furniture EVERYWHERE!Our guest dining tables, nearby lounge seating by the dance floor and even outside which was a downtown rooftop. I loved the crisp, hip vibe this look offered which perfectly defined my trend-setti... |
Our venue didn’t really require a lot of decorating. The dark woodwork and stained glass really set the scene on its own. Since our ceremony started at seven, followed by a cocktail hour, our actual reception didn’t start until about 8:30. We wanted the reception to feel like an old party they might have had years ago in the space, cozy and classic with a lot of candlelight. Our ceremony Dan’s mother happened to have quite a few lacy glass hurricanes from his sister’s wedding that we were able to use with rented silver chargers on half of the tables. For the three tables that were fro... |
I'm sure I've mentioned before that the walls in our apartment are practically covered completely with collected art and pictures. I can't help it. I surround myself with beautiful imagery from my life, travels and adventures...it's the former gallery/museum girl in me. (see what I mean here and here!)When I "grow up" I'd love to have a rotating gallery of my own - and pull out certain pictures/prints during specific seasons. Like this picture...it's only out during the autumn months...the rest of the time this large frame is the home to a fab lithograph of Pirate's Alley in ... |
