Is everyone ready for the holiday? I know I am! I’m going to leave you for the weekend by sharing some holiday inspiration from the ever-talented Holly Chapple. First up, an elegant red and gold centerpiece perfect for a holiday wedding or party, and a bit later, holiday decor in Holly’s own home. This beautiful centerpiece is set in stone urns, and features gold-painted hydrangea, curly willow and lotus pods, rose hips, red tulips, red cabbage roses, red and burgundy carnations, red amaryllis, red dahlias, and seeded eucalyptus. Holly’s elegant florals never cease to amaze me... |
Katey's Red and Gold Invitations are amongst my favorites this year. I was thrilled when she asked me to design her red and gold programs. I used her large swirl and plume graphic to cover the front of the program.... |
Can you believe Christmas is the less than two weeks away!? Since we're feeling very much in the holiday spirit over here, we had to share this red and gold Massachusetts wedding today. Sue and Arthur may have wed in the summer, but their color palette, as captured by Nicole Chan Photography, screams inspiration for winter weddings too! The reception tables were swathed in gorgeous gold linens and popped with red in every form, from the arrangements of roses, to the napkins to the ribbons tied around the delicate favor boxes. Their color of choice was not to be overlooked when it came to dess... |
Katey's journey to these invitations has been long and incredibly fun. I really wanted to do something different and I ended up doing two new print processes that you'll be seeing from me more and more in the future. Katey's colors are red and gold and I wanted the entire set to be incredibly rich feeling. The invitation itself is printed red and with this incredibly rich, metallic gold. The inserts are wrapped with yards of luscious red ribbon and you can see the effect with the metallic gold ink on the rsvp card. The reception card is so vibrant in red ink on gold cardstock. And one of my fav... |
{Red & Gold}When red meets gold it truly is a beautiful and powerful marriage. These colors just work together! Look at how rich this looks! A modern and contemporary cocktail space was designed to give guests an extraordinary experiece and specialty cocktails were the talk of the party. To add additional interest to the space, I chose beautiful gold candle holders that varied in height. Specialty champagne-gold linens were used on tables and red floral centerpieces added a special touch of ambiance. Beautiful for fall or winter weddings, this palette really has that special something tha... |
Vendors, have you formed your team for the Inspired Creations: Glitter + Glam contest yet? Cyd and I are so incredibly excited to see what you come up with! You may remember that a team of Portland wedding vendors headlined by Sara Gray Photography created an incredibly unique tabletop inspired by the book Dandelion Wine for the first Inspired Creations Contest. Here’s a fun little tabletop she whipped up with a bit of sparkle – sure to inspire all of you who are going to enter the contest! Sara was inspired by Kate Space’s Twirl fragrance ad. She used a vivid color palette of metal... |
{Red & Gold}Red is the color of love. And understandably so. It's such a rich and vibrant color. In this board, I paired the color of love with gold and ivory. I really like how the gold brings some elegance to an otherwise very casual setting. I imagine this wedding to take place in the country. Somewhere far away from the troubles of the world. Red table cloths make white china pop and personal touches like handmade reception menus tucked into napkins leave guests chatting about this summer soiree for years to come.{Click to Enlarge}You Might Also Like... ... |
We love a little pop of color in a wedding, and this one was just incredible. Jenny and Aashish sought to bring together her Midwestern background with his Indian heritage, and the result was one of the most stunning weddings I’ve ever seen. Of course, I’m a sucker for cranberry red, so that might be part of it…I would TOTALLY wear that bridesmaid,s dress again. But of course, the cake is the star of OUR show. And the cranberry red shows up here, too. Three simple layers, decorated with a mehndi-inspired paisley motif in gold, trimmed with cranberry red ribbon, and topp... |

{Chocolate Brown, Burnt Orange, Red, & Gold}This fall palette was created for none other than myself :) As most of you know, I am in the midst of planning my very own wedding. In this design, I paired chocolate brown tea length dresses with beautiful fall bouquets. Pops of orange were used to add special interest and to really give the day a fall festival feel. Branch centerpieces added rustic ambiance as did fall colored flickering votives. Gold chiavari chairs added a touch of elegance and homemade invitations were something that guests really appreciated.{Click to Enlarge}You Might A... |
