I constantly work with designs that include ranunculus, they are so full of texture and really a beautiful addition to any floral combination. I love how complicated they can look because of all the layers of petals they have but at the same time, they're so delicate and dainty. They are extremely cost effective and versatile and I think that's why they are so popular. Photo Courtesy of Did You Just See What I SawOn Mother's Day, I used them at my home as I hosted my family over for the day. I bought two different colors and placed various stems within my collection of Milk White Vases. So...

When I shop the wholesale flower market in New York City in the morning and stand face to face with these amazing blooms of spring, I am reminded instantly about what drew me into this business. I adored flowers long before becoming a flower designer, and it is still one of the things I love most about what I do. The flowers below are simply spectacular and signal the coming of spring. Lavender Lilac                       Hot Pink Ranunculus Purple Sweet-peas...

My Mom will be in town this weekend, so we had to stop off after work for some wine (ladies need wine for catching up and long talks about wedding details, don't you know?). These ranunculus were on sale for $5 and I couldn't resist sharing some pics. Hope you all have a great weekend!Lola likes them too......

  • Aren’t they gorgeous?  Tell me I am not the only one that loves this flower? Image courtesy of krissy davis photography If only you were available in the fall.  But, alas, I have the gorgeous ranuncula to turn to. What flower makes you totally swoon?...

As many of you might know by now, I'm a HUGE fan of purple for weddings (any and all shades). So when I come across a stunning wedding with purple, it's hard for me not to share with you. Today's bridal bouquet was created by Carissa of JL Designs. With the wedding being planned by Amanda of In the Now Weddings and photography by Marianne Lozano. The bridal bouquet was created using plum dahlias, eggplant mini calas, lavender ranunculas and purple tulips. The bridesmaids bouquets were similar to the bridal bouquet but the lavender ranunculas was removed and replaced with chocolate brown cymbi...

  • I thought I wanted my bridesmaids to carry small bouquets.  That is, until I saw this: Beth Berry Photography I have seen the idea before, but this time it really struck me. I think it would be a fun and modern twist on the original bouquet to instead have the girls carry clutches in different patterns of reds and/or oranges. For the sake of the wedding ceremony, we would adorn each clutch with a peony or ranuncula. Beth Berry Photography It’s something a bit more fun, and instead of throwing away their bouquets, the girls get to keep a fun clutch.  I’m not much of a flower person (a...

You are cordially invited to... Our third installment of Vanessa's Art History for Brides ... GOTHIC!! Art History for Brides: Gothic The Gothic art movement was during the 12th century and was very much inspired and driven by the inspirations of the church and had touches of Romanesque architecture, Byzantine textiles, and French fashion. Often confused with Goth (think vampires, Marilyn Manson, black lipstick and chokers), Gothic was daring yet refined and ornate with details. ARCHITECTURE Gothic architecture featured magnificent buildings that were built with signature pointed arc...
