Lately, people relate more and more with nature and therefore they pick a warm season for their nuptials, in order to be able to hold their wedding ceremony outdoors. However, because the wedding ceremony has always had a religious connotation, they find it hard to pick between the church and the outdoor location. In what follows, we will expose the beauty of these venues, and in the end you will be able to make a decision. The church is the obvious choice for these who desire something religious and traditional at the same time. They want to enter the House of God and they want their wedding ...

We recently discovered a little gem of a restaurant in Los Angeles and we can't stop thinking about how perfect it would be for a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or intimate wedding. Dominick's is located in West Hollywood, though it's beautiful brick patio feels more like New York's West Village, complete with a working herb garden.  Rooftop style, romantic lighting and cozy fireplace, Dominick's has such a great inviting atmosphere for small celebrations. Maybe it’s because it’s been raining here for the past few days, but all I can think about is going outdoors and enjoying the sun. And there is no better time to head outside and let Mother Nature work her magic than on your wedding day. I’ve put together a few of my favorite outdoor wedding venues, but I’m sure I’ve missed a bunch! Let me know what I missed or if you’re planning an outdoor wedding in the comments section. We went to Wisconsin this weekend and looked at 6 different venues. When all was said and done (and we were exhausted) we decided on The Abbey Resort. It had all we wanted - a place for people to stay and relax, an outdoor ceremony site on the lake, and a white tent for the reception. Above is a picture of where the ceremony will take place, and I have several more pictures of the tent and other locations around the resort that I will upload. The wedding coordinator at The Abbey is amazing, and right now we have August 23rd and September 20th on hold. We'll know the date for sure this week!Othe...

As we were gathering inspiration, we were also gathering information. Figuring out a guest list and a budget. We were hoping for a May wedding - and venues and vendors fill up fast, so we wanted to start looking and booking as soon as possible. I definitely think every bride and groom, before making any decisions, should create a strict guest list (adding random people here and there adds up quickly!) and a budget. Choosing a venue or any vendors before establishing those two things is definitely putting the cart before the horse. So we had our numbers in order - time to find a location. We re...

  • Well, I was completely flummoxed this weekend by the venue question. My original plan was to find a field by a lake or other beautiful outdoor scene and then make it my own. I threw out that idea on the premise that in involved to much labor for myself, but it was still where my heart was. I then searched until my googling fingers blistered for an outdoor venue that is simple, rugged, outdoors, and affordable. I came up with this: It is so affordable compared to everywhere else (it would cost $600 for all day), and it has that attitude I want. Pure, unadaltered outdoors. Then Orchid Dude and ...
