This adorable map just makes me want to take a vacation to New York! The cool colors look so lovely and I adore the city skyline icon at the bottom of the map!No matter how many maps we do of New York City, each one is special and unique. How great is it that the couple is getting married right in Bryant Park?...

via Etsy Friends - this is a big weekend.  I will be in NYC attending a conference from Thursday through Sunday...which will be a really great adventure.  I'm attending the conference with a doctor who did is from the city - she's made reservations at all of her fave restaurants.  I don't think this will be an "explore the city" type of weekend...we will be in meetings all day long...but the vibe of Times Square will be right outside the window (how do I concentrate??)   The only flaw to the weekennd is that Tommy and Clara have to stay behind.  This is the fi...

"One belongs to New York instantly, one belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years."~thomas wolfe. . . a few summer weekends ago, spent a few hot and hazy days in new york city, days filled with early morning swims, bellinis and brunches and sundrenched terraces, afternoon markets and dusky shops with herringbone floors, glasses of perfectly chilled champagne and red velvet cupcakes, sunset in the park and long, lingering moments soaking in the intoxicating energy all around, leaving with memories of dinner on the very last night among topiaries and carrera -- oysters to start, fo...

I just returned from an incredibly busy trip to New York City, where I shot engagement connection sessions with two of my 2009 wedding clients, and I also helped shoot a stunning wedding in Manhattan on Saturday. What a wonderful city! While I was there, I also did a bit of pleasure shooting while getting lost for an hour or so in the meatpacking district, and also took some photographs in between a session on the Brooklyn Bridge. I can’t wait to share photographs from the sessions soon, but given that I’ve just returned, here are a few rare personal photos that also provided some inspirat...

Manhattan to become a mecca of elopement? Maybe! Manhattan’s new Marriage Bureau is, unlike it’s drab predecessor, a 24,000-square-foot wedding palace complete with chandeliers, bronze counters, and marble columns every bit as shiny as a Las Vegas express lane wedding chapel. You can get more than just a $35 marriage license at the Marriage Bureau, however. For $25, a clerk of the city will perform your wedding ceremony, making this (I think) the only one-stop wedding destination in NYC. Then there are the wedding accessories. Nine bucks will buy you an elasticized wedding band complet...

I photographed Barbara & Simon’s engagement photos and we just had so much fun going around New York for some fun and interesting images.  We started at Lincoln Center, headed east to Columbus Circle, took some photos on a lovely bridge in Central Park and finished up along Park Avenue where there were these adorable sheep sculptures.  There are more images on our blog at Here Lily...
