Today’s Daily Destination is one of those weddings you just wish you had been invited to. To say that it looks like everyone had a blast would be an understatement! The couple, Kelly & Uriah, are from Harrisburg, PA but traveled to New Orleans for their wedding. New Orleans wedding photographer Elizabeth Ray was on hand to capture the entire day, from the ceremony to the parade through the streets of the French Quarter to Jackson Square. We love the cool blue look of this New Orleans wedding map! The design is simple, showing off the key locations for the wedding - reheasal dinner, ceremony, reception and after party. The map also conveniently shows the chosen hotel option and the famous city streets such as the downtown Bourbon Street. The flowing Mississippi River makes a commanding presence, but the most endearing aspect of this map has to be the adorable Fleur de Lis compass!... |
Flickr is one of my favourite online hangouts. One of the things I most enjoy about it is uncovering a little gem of undiscovered talent or seeing a sneak peek of a wedding before everybody else and Flickr allows me to do just that. Whilst having one of my daily stalks, I saw this beautiful New Orleans wedding and photo session. Matt & Anna Lora got married at Margaret Gardens (est. 1884) and afterwards had some beautiful portraits in the French quarter. She wore a stunning, full yet elegant dress by Mikaella, a bolero by Rosalyn Robbins and a hairpiece by Molly Gee Designs. I have mu... |
As I was formatting the photographs and the post for this incredible wedding, I tried desperately to edit down the bride’s text a bit, as it was longer than we normally have on SMP. But I seriously couldn’t! Every detail was so incredible and her words made me feel like I was there, experiencing it all for myself. You already saw the stunning film that Chris Jones of Mason Jar Films put together, but now the bride is stopping by to share a little bit more… photography by Zoeica Images Planning a wedding from 4800 miles and 6 time zones away requires loads of patience and a generous supp... |
There aren’t many invitations that can actually make me catch my breath, but within that short list, these letterpress wedding invitations are definitely at the top. Designed and printed by Blackbird Letterpress, these New Orleans wedding invitations feature the amazing calligraphy of Betsy Dunlap and a beautiful layout guided by a blind impression map of the Mississippi River banks: Kathryn from Blackbird Letterpress was thrilled to work with the bride, Riley, who very distinctly wanted a non-traditional wedding invitation. And with the combination of Kathryn’s gorgeous letterpress... |
