I think one of the features that defines a “modern” wedding is the use of non-traditional color combinations: turquoise and red, grey and yellow, purple and tangerine… I would have never thought to consider combining purple and tangerine, but Leslie from A Creative Mint has done a beautiful job of putting together a beautiful spread that is perfect for spring and summer. Are you planning to use modern color combinations for your big day? If so, what colors did you choose and what was your inspiration? [Images via A Creative Mint] ... |

Tag lines tend to crack me up. For example, Olivia Luca bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses are, “Custom made for modern times.” What does that even mean? I much prefer the text from Olivia Luca’s “about” page. …design your own dress, in your own style, for your own body, without sewing a stitch. A dress that you could fashion specifically for yourself but without picking up a single thimble. Or pricking even a pinkie. A dress that you could create at your own leisure, in your own way, maybe even from the comfort of your own home. No rush. No muss. No pressure. No sewing skills req... |

Looking for a bit of edge on your wedding day? Meet Mitzi Q, short for Mitzi Quilendrino-Bustos, a designer who has been immersed in the world of bridal since 2003. Manila based, her greatest achievements in design have stemmed from expert pattern making and draping (as you can see). Mitzi admits, "My pieces are essentially architectural doused in "Chic Refinement". As a designer myself, I'm in awe of those "Architects of Fashion"--icons like Balenciaga and Langer whose talent is based in form and structuring fabric . . . .I'll gladly add Mitzi to... |
These are just sick. You know your guests would remember this. Modern Press found via Decocentric (no, I can’t understand any of it) and Paper Crave. I know my posts have been really short this week. The paragraphs of discussion are escaping me this week. So I’m posting things that inspire me, without a lot of discussion. Not sure how long it will last. Lucky for me, E is a fantastic blogging partner. Everyone should have a best friend like this. A.... |
Meg & Dave are quite the hip couple. They are also two of my greatest friends. Let us start at the beginning in 2006. Dave needed a place to live in Providence. Rich {my fiance...in case you are just joining me here} had just bought a six-bedroom house & needed some housemates. Meg wanted to move to Providence so she found a six-bedroom house with five male housemates. Thus, love was born... approximately one year later. Then people moved out, people moved in...eventually I moved in & the story continues. Wait. Where was I? Ah! Yes. The invitations... |
