Manzanita branches have become an important part of event design in the last couple of years. One of the reasons for this is because they can be used in various ways to give you totally different looks and feels. One option is to spray paint the branches silver and have them dripping in crystals. Another option would be to hang flowers from the branches. Either way, it's a winner!Photo...

This pretty creation is from a winter wedding in St. Louis that we'll be featuring in full in the Kansas Missouri magazine... When I saw it, I just figured that the bride's florist hooked her up with this -- not the case though! Turns out, Courtney (the bride) made it herself. She found the manzanita tree at a craft store and cemented ("cemented" like as a verb) it into this gorgeous vase. Then she attached silver spray-painted leaves, and feather bird ornaments. Pretty, right? > See all our pretty ceremony photos  ...

This year marks the 75th Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony. Last night's tree lighting ceremony was just the jump start I needed to get me in the (next) holiday mood. 30,000 environmentally friendly lights lit up the night like tiny crystals sparkling again the skyline. What a beautiful idea. With December's arrival, ornaments of all kinds are on display. I'm saving the Hallmark ones for the Christmas tree. But I love the idea of tree trimming at my reception. Above, Manzanita branches—spray-painted silver, and dripping with crystal ropes—sit atop a special champagne bar (or escort card s...

Check out these lovely decorative trees!  Did you see our post on making your own manzanita trees?  This gets you the same effect and will save you from making them yourself.  Plus they’ve been used at a wedding already so they’re recycled and eco-friendly! Laura, the bride, is asking $70 for each tree.  There are two available that can be sold together or separately.  I think these make a perfect piece to hold place cards, wish cards (like you see in the second photo), or small mounted family photos.  They can even be left blank as an accent piece…they’re pretty just as-is! ...

As far as I'm concerned I can't see this film soon enough. Based on reviews and this beautiful trailer, the story of The Tree is touching, the cinematography is breathtaking, and the acting is phenomenal. Isn't Morgana Davies (who plays the adorable Simone) brilliant? The final line featured in this trailer is sheer perfection: "Well, you have a choice to be happy or sad. And I chose to be happy. And I am happy." Although it is already available on DVD in Australia, it is in theatres in North America this summer. Check out The Tree homepage for dates in your city....
