  • Many of you may remember these wonderful save the dates illustrated by Jennifer Judd-McGee of Swallowfield I shared with you a few months ago & here are the invitations.  How wonderful are they?  Jen has such an amazing ability to tell a story {or many stories with this invitation} through her illustrations.  Jen also did the hand lettering for the invitation on the inside.  Nina & Alex are getting married in Mount Desert Island, off the coast of Maine & home to Acadia National Park {& Bar Harbor & South West Harbor & really you should just go.  It is a wonde...

  •     Even though I have been staring at dates as deep in 2009 as October, it is still taking a while to sink into the new year.  However, with all sorts of wedding invitations to be printed for 2009 I have no choice but to jump right in, starting with these save the dates for none other than my sister's wedding.    The lighthouse is that of Spring Point, drawn by me!  The lighthouse is located in South Portland, Maine & it is the exact spot where Jay proposed to my sister back in May 2008.    My sister's colors are black & white accented with pink & lime green.Â...

Meagan at Maine Season Events always sends us the prettiest weddings. She’s just got a way with weddings that is pretty, without being stuffy…elegant, without being over-the-top. And this last little wedding shows off Meagan’s skills to perfection. Obviously the backdrop is gorgeous, but more fabulous…are the details. The amazing, homemade cake. The perfectly pretty flowers. The gown, the color palette, the everything. Remember, you can see the whole shebang of beauty right here. click here to see the full wedding gallery! Nick and I met at our Colby College orientation trip. We...

  • We just returned from a truly memorable wedding in the lakes region of Maine.  The fresh produce, beautiful lakes, and peacefulness made it such an incredible location.   Embracing the elements of the environment, we built two 24′ bars from the bark of birch trees. ...

Cushing, Maine is one of the most intriguing places I've ever been (I heart Maine). Maria Alexandra Vettese took these sky photos there as part of her Come Darkness project. Read the statement behind the project and you might be looking at these dark winter days a bit differently.  She says, "I became fixated on capturing a momentary blanket of light, of all tones and colors, which I could hold and pull up around me when all I see is black. I wanted to feel the light. I needed to see the light, And now I feel ready. Come darkness, here we are again." Maria printed the fi...

  •   Hello.  How is your week going?  So much is going on I feel like I have done enough work for it to already be Friday.  But alas, it is only Wednesday.  But it's okay because I have these lovely save the dates to share with you!  As you may have guessed, artist & illustrator Jen of Swallowfield & I teamed up again!  I love everything Jen does, but those little birds get me everytime, & the one standing atop the pinetree?  I am taking him home with me {not really, he needs to be free with his birdie friends}.  Nina & Alex are getting married in Mount Desert Isl...

We always do a little happy wedding dance when Corbin Gurkin sends something our way. She’s that lucky photographer that seems to score one gorgeous wedding after another, with details that are off the charts gorgeous and a sense of style that is always this perfect combination of timelessness and chic. And yet without fail, with every wedding, she takes that luck and elevates it to an entirely new level with her photographs. And this wedding in particular shows off her skills to no end. Add to that coordination by Maine Season Events and floral design by Flora Fauna and well, perfection. Th...

  • Zandy & Christopher were recently married in an intimate ceremony at Zandy's family summer home on Kezar Lake in Maine. Zandy had many ideas for the announcement design, taking bits & pieces from some of my past designs.  Ultimately, we decided there was only one perfect design & it was that of an illustration by Jennifer Judd-McGee.  Who could capture the essence of Maine in an illustration better than Jen, who lives & creates in Maine?  Exactly!  You may recognize the illustration from the inside of this invitation, also illustrated by Jen for a wedding that also t...
