Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” –Hebrews 13:5 Those are comforting words to me, and piercing words as well. So often I find myself seeking money, earthly possessions, recognition, appreciation, etc… Ultimately, it comes down to the Lord’s provision in all things; yes, all things. I have to tell myself that every day. And that is why I currently have that text above as the desktop image on ... |
One of favorite new weddings trends is live panting at weddings. Well, I guess it isn't so new since we've been doing it for a year now but it is still fabulous! There are several talented painters in the D.C. area who will paint a scene from your wedding (usually the ceremony or first dance but it could be anything) during the wedding. So, not only do your guests get to watch the painting unfold but you have a gorgeous and totally unique keepsake from your wedding. So it is part entertainment and part wedding memento. Our very own Sara even had a live painter at her wedding this past Novemb... |
The newlywed couple and their 250 family members and friends had the night of their lives at one of our exclusive venues, the La Jolla Woman’s Club. Everything was draped in silver and eggplant linens to give this wedding a very classy look and feel. For cocktail hour we provided them with six of our finest appetizers and let BBC keep the wine flowing. With DJ Randy on the turntables, this was a perfect wedding reception. The Abbey made sure we had adequate staff to provide such a large guest count with the service they expected, and because of this everyone received the same attention and 5... |

I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find a number of beautiful applications in a variety of bridal settings and these are a few of my favorites. – Brittany Watson Jepson Tablecloth | cake with heart | napkin | cake | napkins ... |
Brace yourselves people, we are doing a whopping THREE posts today! Make sure to check back periodically to see what's new! We are supposed to share a few ways in which we live to an environmentally friendly way. Here are mine... Living - We use energy saver light bulbs in all of our lamps and overhead lighting. Such a simple way to make a big difference. We buy local produce at farmers markets whenever we can. Aside from the fact th... |
"Follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were" - Joseph CampbellWhile not directly wedding related - our dear friend who will be standing alongside us on our wedding day has been working on this film - The Now - for quite a while. I can't wait to see this project upon its completion. I think it will have a very powerful message. Based off similar teaching as Eckard Tolle's Power of Now and Rhonda Byrne's The Secret this film is a docudrama that exposes a greater understanding of human potential through present moment awareness, which is our abi... |
