Here’s a new one…have you thought about decorating the elevator at your venue?  If your site requires guests to use an elevator, this is the perfect way to attract your guests and keep them entertained.  This would be great at venues like Top of the Town, the Newseum, the Sheraton National, or even the Fairmont’s lower-level ballroom.  Your guests will know exactly where they’re supposed to go to find the party! This example is for a corporate environment but it would be great for weddings too.  You can use any graphic like a monogram, logo, or even a photograph!  They go up quic...

I loved working with Lenore on these. Lenore had a very clear image for the design of her flower invitations. She wanted them fun, many bright colors and the flowers to be all different. Her wedding invitations are the funkiest I think I've done to date - in bright pink, brilliant blue, yellow, and apple green. The RSVP cards had the same floral motif and we did matching hot pink RSVP envelopes with custom flower stamps. The reception card is a brilliant bright blue with her flowers printed in the deeper colors.Custom maps completed the set with flower icons. The inserts were wrapped in brilli...

Apologies for the silence here. I've decided to take a break from blogging for a week or so. We're renovating the studio and everything is upside down. Here's a peek at our color palette for the studio. Heavy on the citron and sprout and galvanized ... light on the mai tai and ciel. Underneath is concrete, and we're thinking about polishing it. My dream is to pour that super shiny enamel-looking stuff, but for now I'll settle f...

I was talking to my grandmother over the weekend about wedding albums and wedding videos. She has never seen my sister’s video – which is an unedited 3-part VHS marathon that Torey refuses to have edited – and she hasn’t seen mine in years. I don’t remember how we got on the subject but I think it might have to do with the fact that my grandfather who passed away in 2004 is on both of our videos and she wants to get together and watch both of our videos on Mother’s Day.Anyway, she then told me that she hates her wedding album because my grandfather was too cheap to spend money on a...

Filed under: Gifts and RegistriesWe simply love birds! As a design element, they add a touch of romance and playfulness to anything they touch (we've shown you weddings and cakes so far) and they're so cute to look at. What's not to love? We've just come across Lenox's "Chirp" china pattern (part of their Simply Fine collection) and we just fell in love all over again. The delicate watercolor-like bird and flowers illustrations contrast nicely with the bold teal accent border; the result is modern sophistication rather than grandmotherly kitsch. You'll always have something pretty to look at - b...
