This 4 tier square wedding cake was for high school sweethearts who were married this weekend at the Stone House in Warren, NJ. The top of the cake includes several sugar roses & hydrangeas. Ivory fondant with cutout lace appliques and rose petals cover the tiers and a bronze monogram “K L T” finishes off the design. Flavors included red velvet cake with vanilla Italian meringue and lemon cream cheese and chocolate with peanut butter and oreos and cream buttercream. Erin left us this message on our facebook page. Thanks Erin – glad the bride and groom enjoyed the cake: And it was... |
Vintage Appliqué is one of our newer designs and here to explain the inspiration behind the design is none other than the designer herself … Jen. The inspiration behind this design was the timeless pattern of lace. Such a romantic fabric, lace never loses its dreamy and enchanting demeanor and I wanted to create an invite that gave off that same classic feeling. Paired with a soft cursive script and a muted pink color, I wanted this invite to stand the test of time and be perfect for any season or wedding theme. {click to enlarge} Featured above: Rectangle Wedding Invitation with Half... |

If nail polish is not your thing, but you’re dying to have something special on your digets for your wedding day, Incoco Dry Nail Appliques are the thing. for. you. I tried these babies out a few weeks ago and I must admit – I was impressed. I’m a bit of “purist” when it comes to painting nails. I believe in the process filing, buffing, base coat, color coat, color coat, top coat, and watching paint dry. BUT! If you don’t have the budget to get your nails done or the time to do them yourself, you should try Incoco! They are made of real polish, just much less messy and much f... |
"I Do" Rhinestone Shoe Appliques You have to admit these “I Do” rhinestone appliques are too cute! What better way to say “yes” and wear something blue than with these wedding crystal transfers? Not only do they make adorable bridal shoe accessories, but they’ll suprise your man when he’s slipping off that garter. What a great picture idea for the photographer, too. The rhinestone transfers peel and stick to your wedding shoes, but they’re also great for gift bags and scrapbooks. Show off your style and sense of humor. These bridal accessories by Mindy Wei... |
I really wanted to order the Mindy Weiss shoe applique but every time I went to order it they were either out of stock or discontinued which was a bummer. I finally got frustrated and decided to surf the net to see if I could find an easy tutorial to make my own. I didn’t search long before I found great instructions here. Although I like her instructions I chose to go an easier route by using Crystallized™ Swarovski® flatback hotfix crystals and the Jolee’s Hotfix Heating tool. It was not the most cost efficient way to go about it but they came out GREAT. Here are my instructions in c... |
Hi there. This is Jacqueline from Merci New York, a Manhattan-based blog and bridal styling service that provides “chic and stylish inspiration to the busy city bride.” I’m thrilled for the opportunity to guest blog on StrictlyWeddings.com. Part of my job as a stylist is to bring insider experience from the fashion industry directly to my brides. Often such inspiration comes from a recent showroom appointment, trunk show, or even people watching along the streets of Manhattan… but with all the fabulous fashion shows that have graced the worldwide stage these past few months, my mind ha... |
These star stir sticks were probably one of my favorite details of the entire shoot. They were inspired by ones Carter and Cook had made for a shoot late last year, but I made the scale a little larger for our shoot. The sticks are incredibly easy to make and don’t take a huge amount of time, which makes them even more attractive in my book. The gold sequins on the star are the perfect complement to the pink lemonade signature cocktail I made (for the recipe, visit Somewhere Splendid). • • ♥ • • What You’ll Need: 2″ Sequinned Star Appliques Bamboo Barbeque Skewers (Available a... |
