I feel so proud! My baby, my invitation. :) The process RSVP card Whew! Our invitations are finally on their way to our lovely guests. It feels SO GOOD to be finished with this project!! I made the decision to hand craft our invites after scouring the net for countless hours trying to find an affordable, unique invitation that fits our colors and theme. After ordering several samples and reviewing price quotes; it was determined that nothing really “fit” what I was looking for. All of the navy blue price- conscious options were either too “corporate” looking or were clearly for a summe...

So the first step of planning a wedding is of course the invitations. For us instead of having the same invitation the guy and the girl actually have different invitations. Since I made the trip to India to shop for the wedding I got to pick out both of them, which was actually a lot harder then it seems since there are so many choices. We had to have an invite that had several cards inside for all the different events which made it a little easier to narrow down. Our first wedding related ceremony was to write out our wedding invitations. The guy and girl have separate ceremonies for this sin...

I love these Thanksgiving invitations from Oh So Beautiful Paper--the canvas pocket and the simplicity of the black and white with lots of white space would make for a great wedding invitation!...

I have an obession with paper products, it's a sickness. I love the idea of scrapbooking and card making, but when I sit down to do it (I haven't sat down to do this in a loooooong time), I go blank and don't know where to start. When I was getting married, I made all of our invitations, around 150 of them. I was very very anal about how they looked, I even hot glued the bows so they would lay just right. My husband thought I was nuts but I loved it doing. Sometimes I think about doing custom invites for my clients, but I don't know where I would find the time. So, I leave that to the invitiat...

I love all paper products, in fact I have a slight obsession with them. I am always on the lookout for new notepad, notecards and folders. I could totally see myself being an invite designer, if I didn't love the planning.A few months ago,one of my couple's asked me about having their invites designed because they couldn't find something they liked. I immediately contacted Bailey to see what she could do. I have known Bailey for years, we went to high school together and were on the same cheerleading squad. She has been doing graphic design for a while and has started her own business, Bailey...

  • Lia and I are working on a wedding industry party we are co- hosting with Country Essences in October. We wanted to celebrate the slowing down of the season with our fellow Vendors. After a busy season of events, its great for the people behind the scenes to get a chance to enjoy a great party without working!!!! I've been working on the invitations with Sara, owner of Crescent Moon Paper Company. We went for a fall color scheme since the party will take place in late October, and retro cocktail motif to give a feel for the type of party it will be. Working with Sara has been fantastic. She ha...

  • I’ve been patiently waiting to write about our lovely invitations for a couple months now.  I didn’t want to put any pictures of the invites up until they had been sent out.  Well we sent them out this past weekend and I am so excited!!! I have never loved a piece of paper more than I do this one! We worked with the lovely Sherrie McKinley from Beautifully Handmade and could not be happier with the entire process…especially the end result! I heard about Sherrie from my grandfather who gave me her info.  She is located in Florida but was very easy to work with through e-mail.  She rea...

Our invitations came yesterday and they are BEAUTIFUL!! Since it's still six months before we mail them out, I'm going to keep them a secret until then, but in May I'll write a long post about the wonderful vendors we used (hint: we hired a calligrapher and a letterpress company who were absolutely marvelous). In the meantime, I love Maria Thomas' work for Checkerboard [via Snippet and Ink and Oh So Beautiful Paper]. I had actually clipped a photo of one of these invitations out of a wedding magazine a year ago, and never knew where it came from!...

I know, I know....finally! I apologize for the lack of posts last week and thank you for all the sweet emails wondering if I was alright. I am not sure how one gets sick in the middle of summer but I managed to do it! But enough about that though - onto the good stuff. I designed the invitation suite myself and worked with a local letterpress company to have them printed. I didn't actually have the best experience with them but I am really happy with how they all came together in the end, so I suppose that's all that matters! I hate to blur out the some of the information but hopefully y...
