  • Sometimes when you are a part of a pair, there’s no better way to spend Halloween than dressing up like your favorite celebrity couple. We think the “Tom and Katie” costume got a little old last year, so here are some fresh ideas that will give you a chance to pay homage to Patrick Swayze, embrace your inner geek or even indulge in your secret love of vampires (who doesn’t love a man in guy-liner?). Johnny and Baby from Dirty Dancing Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton from HBO’s True Blood Beyonce and Jay-Z, Hip Hop Royalty! Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass from The CW’s Gossip Girl...

Dear ESB, This is a low-grade issue and I'm grateful that with a month to go before my wedding this is my big question. However, I seem to have fixated on it am generally over-thinking and could use a blunt opinion. We're having a very low-key outdoor grill-out wedding this June at my parents' Christmas tree farm. The set-up is a bit wonky: small gathering of close family/friends with snacks, lawn games, etc. in the early afternoon, wedding ceremony in the evening, and then opening it up to a larger community (I'm from a very small town so everyone just sorta shows up, there's no stopping...

Halloween is just around the corner and because many of us are in a commited relationship, it’s a great excuse to dress up in a cheesy couple’s costume. I’ve compiled a list of ideas that are same-sex friendly, gender neutral, or totally worth a night in drag! Curiously Alice I sometimes find images like this on other blogs and sites referred to as vintage.  For me vintage means what it means in wine-speak: A harvest not so recent though not exactly ancient.  Any piece of clothing dating further back than pre-20th century belongs either in a museum or with folks specializing in restoration. The images above and below are reproductions of costumes from the 18th and 19th centuries by Etsy designers Curiously Alice and Romantic Threads.  They hark back to Marie Antoinette and Victoriana with some steampunk thrown in.&...

source Ever catch this flick made back in 1980 called, Somewhere in Time with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve? The plot though interesting, is really out there: Playwright Reeve travels back in time via self hypnosis to be with the woman he loves. The acting and overall direction may be ho-hum but the John Barry score paired up with magnificant sets and costumes makes it all so magical. The costumes by Jean-Pierre Dorleac have inspired many of my own creations, including hats and accessories.  If you're a bride-to-be contemplating a highly romantic, early 20th centu...

Yes, I think I would like to be a mushroom for Halloween! It's simple, clever and oh so easy! Plus, you can still feel cute in it while abiding by the costume required rule.Created by Kendra Smoot for AOL....
