With the recent trend for vintage-inspired weddings, what better way to leave your ceremony than in a vintage getaway car?! All of these cars have made an appearance on this blog in some way or another, but today I wanted to show you what a fun addition this can be to your big day.My favorite is the VW Beetle from Betsy & Jeff's wedding, and yes, that is me on my wedding in the green Excalibur (with the terribly last minute Just Married sign...)! I love the color & fun photos old cars can add to a detail-filled wedding![sources 1, 2, 3 & 4, 5]... |
I’ve never been fond of shiny limousines, and stretch Lincoln Navigators or Hummers really aren’t my thing. For Darin and I, the perfect wedding getaway car was a white, vintage Rolls Royce. Vintage cars are demand these days. Not surprising, considering that just about everything vintage is white hot. And speaking of hot, remember that some of these beauties don’t have air conditioning. If you are planning a summer wedding, you might want to keep this in mind. You probably won’t care about a lack of air conditioning when you are exiting the wedding, but if you are using a vintage ... |

I WISH I could have been invited to Channi and Jeff’s wedding, because it looks like SO MUCH FUN! They had a band, caricatures, and lawn games for their guests to enjoy during an afternoon reception. Everything is so laid back, fun and personal! What I can’t resist though, is that striped bow tie. Oh dear. Mental note: striped bow ties are absurdly fab for any gent. All these super darling images were shot by a new fave photog of mine, Ben Sasso. You must check out more of his work! You’ll absolutely LOVE it. ... |

Filed under: Bridal BloopersWhen I got married, I really didn't stress over the details at all. And it only backfired once. I hadn't rented a special car for the day. We were getting married close to home and weren't leaving for our honeymoon right away, so we were just going to drive home afterwards. I'd been home the night before the wedding, and the groom had stayed at a friend's house, so I got a ride with a bridesmaid to the ceremony, figuring my husband would have his car for the ride home. After we cut the cake, the best man came up to me with a can of whipped cream in his hand and asked... |
You've booked the ceremony and the reception. You've picked the cake flavors and made the do not play list for the DJ. You've even started racing home after work to get the mail, because the RSVPs are pouring in!Now it's time for the details, including the logistics of getting from here to there. There are many options out there for transportation and depending on your style, budget and maybe a childhood dream, you can find something that will suit you.A stretch limo, Hummer or Excursion are classic options. The trolley is one of my favorite because it fits everyone & their dates. Classic ... |
Vroom, Vroom….keeping with the current theme of wedding transportation that has been everywhere recently, we wanted to post these car shots that were captured for a bride and groom of ours. They loved their Mini-Cooper and used it as their getaway car. It was buffed, polished, and shined to perfection then detailed with love notes just for them. A fun way to personalize your wedding day even more and drive away to your honeymoon in style!... |
The Getaway Car is a topic that we all have in the back of our minds, but never really talk about. It is just as important as the church and the attire, but not quite as intriguing as the ring and the gown. So how does one...... |
The old-fashioned notion of the newlyweds driving off together to clanking of tin cans is just as romantic as ever. Create your own just married sign (or have your bridesmaids surprise you!) with just a few short steps. With scissors, cut rounded edges onto a large piece of white poster board to give it a cloud-like shape. With a thick marker, write JUST MARRIED on the card and decorate with hearts. Or if you're more particular, use stamps or stencils in a style you love. Attach the poster to the back of the car's bumper or hang from the trunk with ribbon. Adjust so it's right over the lic... |
