Wedding planners and designers spend a lot of time on the phone. It seems to me that I start at seven or so in the morning and I can still be chatting away at ten or eleven with clients from across the country. So much of my time on the phone is spent multi tasking and drawing away the thoughts that are in my head for projects that I am working on, or just sometimes, fantasy sketches for dresses and flowers that I am conceptualizing. I thought that you might like to see one of the dresses that I drew this morning. I love the flouncing, linear detail to the styling of the dress. Of course ever... |

Sarah from Classic Bride is back with us every Friday to share a few of her favorite finds, inspiration and ideas for chic, classic weddings. Here’s this week’s find: If you’re like me and don’t really favor the standard wedding/ballroom/event chairs that most venues and rental companies have to choose from, don’t feel forced to ‘make it work’ by gussying chiavaris with chair covers. Think outside the box. There are some amazing options out there and if you’re having an intimate-sized wedding, you could even start a small collection of mis-matched antique and modern chairs to... |
Loving this frilly wedding cake by Maisie Fantaisie in the UK. So simple, yet so gorgeous!... |
Who can resist a big white frilly wedding cake like this? I certainly can’t, not with all those ripples of snowy icing and frothy pale pink Dahlias. This is a cross between a traditional tiered wedding cake, albeit one which is a bit edgier with perfectly messy frosting, and a something a bit more modern whilst still romantic, with those statement flowers. Melissa Rycroft, of ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ fame, tangoed her way into the heart of her fiancé, Tye Strickland. She has chosen Alfred Angelo as her designer of choice to dance her way down the aisle. Trip on that light fantastic bit of news!... |

The Cherry Blossom Girl, found via A CUP OF JOI think this is just divine...almost too lovely for words. It makes me sigh. So wispy...soooo romantic. Like the bride in a fairytale...or a Princess....or an Austin character. As much as I adore this, it is not a look I would never ever attempt for myself. I'm a fashion wimp. Are there any bridal trends you secretly worship but wouldn't dare replicate?... |
I love the work of Holly Stalder whose custom shrug was recently featured on Kiss the Groom, a fantastic blog from photographer Elizabeth Messina. Elizabeth photographed Kristen and Todd's wedding with special attention paid to the handcrafted shrug made by Holly Stalder from lace the belonged to the bride's great great grandmother. Don't the delicate details and soft colors of this pictorial inspire you to add your own frilly details to your wedding wardrobe? If not, take a look at what Fendi just sent down the runway for Spring 2010. Their collection was filled with feathery details, wispy ... |
