Hi! I will be the guest of my boyfriend to a June outdoor wedding held upstate in June. The invitation says the attire is garden formal with hats encouraged. I'm ok with the hat idea. In fact, I'm kinda excited. But the dress situation is freaking me out. I am "that girl" who only wears black. What the hell does a girl like me wear to a wedding advertising "lawn games" after the catholic ceremony?? I'm not opposed to floral or lace for a wedding, but I dont have the slightest idea where to begin.  Please please help. ***** GARDEN FORMAL?  WITH LAWN GAMES?? Jesus H. I th...

Here in the South, the weather stays nice pretty late into the Fall which makes it feasible to have an outdoor wedding even in early November. I actually went to a friend’s wedding around this time last year (November 1st, to be exact) and it was 72 degrees - just perfect for their lakeside ceremony. If you’re in the South, I think a wedding in a formal garden, filled with sculpted evergreens, stone statues and architectural details would be lovely and unexpected for a Fall wedding. Photo: Courtesy of Art & Appetite This gorgeous cake by Rylan Ty of Art & Appetite simply blew me away—I love the elegant "bird and buds" theme. This cake would be the perfect complement to a formal garden celebration like today's featured real wedding. Everything is entirely edible, from the flower buds and birds to the tiny egg-filled nest. Photo: Courtesy of Golden Rectangle Press If you're hosting an opulent, garden-inspired celebration like today's featured couple, I'm partial to this letterpressed invite by Brooklyn-based stationer Golden Rectangle Press, featuring ornate florals and scroll work and flourished typography that reminds me of Paris Metro signs. The San Diego Botanical Garden located in Encinitas is a choice spot to have a wedding and with the perfect weather that frequents San Diego an outdoor reception is paradise waiting.  The Huyhn party chose this spot for its beauty and seclusion, they wished to have a nice intimate gathering of family to witness this special day for their exchanging of vows.  Surrounded by blossoming flowers, stunning clear blue skies overhead and exotic smells wafting throughout the gardens. ...

I am thrilled about the opportunity to share Myriah and Christopher’s wedding today on Once Wed. Bret Cole was kind enough to send over so many gorgeous images for me to share, and I had such a fun time last night picking through my favorites to feature today. The lovely bride, Myriah, generously agreed to put together a little guest blog feature to accompany the post. More from Myriah… My husband, Christopher, is an environmental lawyer and I am a fashion designer (I’ve worked for Lela Rose, Ralph Lauren, and have recently started my own children’s wear line). We met almost three year...

I spotted this wedding on La Porte Rouge, and Nadia said I could share it with you. The sweet garden wedding took place in Massachusetts at the family's farmhouse. I adore the tabletop with the kitchen towel napkins, mix and match flowers, and taper candles (something I really love right now!). All the details are just splendid as are these candid family and bride and groom shots below. Photos by Nadia. Via La Porte Rouge....
