Lynn says that the best achievement of the whole wedding was that I hadn’t managed to see the reception space until after the wedding. That our family took care of that and somehow managed to make me stay out of it was a monumental achievement for which I am grateful. Everything was gorgeous. Even though I planned it, secretly I didn’t think tulle would work (I mean, ick—tulle) but it covered the shelf with our childhood photos and made everything kind of floaty and magical along the mirrored wall. The flowers were lovely, and the colors all came together nicely.*We came int... |
One of our all time favorite clients to date…Robyn came to us in a rush - wanting to create the perfect wedding invitation for her intimate destination wedding in Florida. We designed a darling invitation set - mounted to a pretty “pool blue” to match the beach style of the wedding. Renee Troy created the spot calligraphy for each piece, and we added a whimsical hand drawn map for the finishing touch. These little beauties were mailed in kraft boxes, laying on a sweet piece of burlap, and tied with a sand colored organza ribbon with a starfish on top. Guests were blown away by all of... |
The whole North Carolina SW team is off to Florida this morning (Kirstin, Rachel, Laura and myself) for a week of meetings, meetings, photoshoots, more photoshoots and a big wedding on Saturday to top it all off. We'll be getting together with the FL team on Thursday for dinner at the Casa de Casey (my house). It's going to be a great week of bonding and hopefully no rain on Saturday. We are bringing our Flips and will be sure to capture all the action for the blog. I am expecially excited about Saturday's wedding. The couple is near and dear to my heart. I will be ball... |
Bliss NC travels down to Florida every month or so to either do a wedding or meet with a client. When we do, we always try to prepare ourselves for the undeniable wedding craziness that ensues! This trip was no exception. With only a couple of days and seven of our spring brides to meet with, we knew we had our work cut out for us... and we loved every second of it! Words cannot describe how lucky we feel to have the lovely brides that we do. Every single one of them has the most wonderful ideas for their wedding and we literally cannot wait to start helping them through their design process!... |
Being an avid traveler, I’ve always known that I wanted a destination wedding. The idea of exchanging vows somewhere beautiful and exotic always appealed to me– plus I had heard that it can be cheaper and easier to plan a wedding abroad. So about 5 minutes after we got engaged last July, I started looking for “the right” destination venue for our wedding. From amtweddings.com I didn’t realize it would be like trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack, which is why it took eight ridiculously long months to find the right place and set a date. First I was thinking Mexico or th... |
For someone whose heart is generally only taken hostage by an all white wedding…lately, I seem to be craving color. Really cool interpretations of color. Like this next little number…filled to the brim with THE most gorgeous coral and mint accents a girl has ever seen. All perfectly designed and executed by Kelly McWilliams of Weddings by Socialites. This wedding is the epitome of girly style and one that I am definitely bookmarking as a new fav. Oh and the cake by Kakes by Karen? Beyond. See more of the perfect details (because there are a ton!) all photographed by Deborah Cull in the ga... |
With the cloud cover lingering in Southern California this weekend, it left us itching for a warm, coastal locale. And this classic Florida Keys map is just the ticket! Showcasing the water and wildlife of the peninsula towns of Florida, any guest would be looking forward to this tropical wedding setting. Beginning at the mainland and heading all the way down Highway 1 hinting at the Southernmost point, this map features palms, dolphins and of course the native manatee! This map was included as part of an invitation suite with a horizontal “tea-length” layout.... |
Lauren Kinsey Photography (***film photographer!!!) was so kind to share with us Samantha and Justin’s wedding, which took place in beautiful Florida. I’m obsessed with the navy and pink color combo, all beautifully executed by Christina of Fete Events with stuns florals by Myrtie Blue. I think my favorite part about this wedding though, is the love story. Justin was playing football at Louisiana-Lafayette University when Hurricane Katrina forced him to evacuate to the Florida panhandle, where he met the lovely Samantha. ... |
