Evergreen Bouquet I harvested my first batch of evergreens today. I had so much fun making these beautiful seasonal bouquets. Evergreens are so rich in texture, color and fragrance that they are perfect for bouquets. Evergreens are extremely hardy and will not wilt. In fact, fresh cut evergreens will last weeks, sometimes months. This bouquet was created with boxwood, blue spruce, cryptomeria, and ewe bush. To keep it subtle and clean, we did not use fresh flowers. I added pods and kiwi vine to make the bouquet interesting. This bouquet would be perfect for a late fall wedding, all the way t... |
happy friday friends!!one of my favorite things about winter is the earthy and piney smell of evergreens. they can be dressed up or kept casual and rustic. i love the idea of handing out miniature evergreen trees as wedding favors or using them to add interest to your buffet table. check out these other amazing ideas for adding evergreen to your big day!1. boxed evergreens {meg perotti} | 2. evergreen candle {better home & gardens} | 3. dessert table {jl designs} | 4. garland {martha stewart weddings} | 5. apples and evergreen centerpiece {count... |
With all the fir trees, holly and ivy around during the holiday season, I thought Evergreen would be a good color to incorporate into a winter wedding palette. Metallic silver keeps it festive and Citron adds a little unexpected punch… Photo Credits: row 1: Martha Stewart row 2: J. Seasonal, fresh and local plants + flowers are always easier on the budget and easier to source. I love the idea of using something that's so abundant this time of year. Evergreen can be simple + rustic wrapped in burlap and twine or dressed up + chic in silver trophies.{bride with saplings via Lucky in Love; herb place setting (imagine the same place setting with sprigs of evergreen) via Sunset; evergreen bouquet by Holly Chapple Flowers; chair decoration via Country Living; bride and groom photographed by Worthington Photography; evergreen favors via Nurserymen; evergreen in trophies via Sou... |

Alexia and Neil’s had a beautiful June wedding at the Evergreen House in Baltimore. Their ceremony was outside on a wide lawn behind the mansion and their reception was held in the Evergreen Carriage House. One of the highlights of the wedding came after the ceremony, when the couple made their way through an arch of swords, a tradition for Navy weddings where the couple must kiss to “pay” for passage past each pair of swords. The last Naval officer in the arch gives the bride a little swap in the rear end and hearty cheer of “welcome to the Navy!” Passing through the swor... |
Happy Friday the 13th! In light of the apparent snow in the forecast in Denver for this weekend, a fun, snowy engagement session from Kara Pearson. Kara Pearson Photography From the photographer, Kara: Carly and Ilan wanted a snow engagement shoot so bad. We set the date for the shoot a few weeks ahead of schedule. We hadn’t been getting any snow – it was dry as a bone – and they were kind of bummed. Then an hour before the shoot was scheduled it started snowing like crazy. What perfect timing! ... |
Good morning and happy Monday, friends! Can you believe it’s Christmas week already? We’re having an unusually green December here in upstate New York, but I’m loving these bright and true shades of evergreen and holly berry to get in the holiday spirit. Add in a touch of navy and icy shades of blue and gray and you’ve basically got the perfect classic Christmas look. So preppy and timeless! What’s everyone up to this week in anticipation of the holidays? Here’s hoping you have a great week! {Photo credits, from top: lemons & loafers /J.Crew via Kelly M... |
I apologize for repeating images from time to time - there are some that I return to again and again. It seems like every year around this time, this sweet ruffled dress by Oscar de la Renta makes an appearance in one of my inspiration boards (like here, and here). I just can't help it - I love it! And even though it's short, it feels like the perfect winter wedding dress to me.Though winter weddings are generally more formal than in other seasons - I think it's the fact that we're stuck indoors and wearing more clothes - that's no reason to sacrifice the simplicity that we've been talking abo... |
Jason’s Take: It’s very rare when Gina and I are not shooting a wedding together. I was the lucky one that went to the Dominican Republic solo in February for a Punta Cana Wedding… and I was the lucky one to spend the afternoon with Jordan and Ryan at the Evergreen Lake House for their wedding. Both weddings were destination weddings. It just happened that for Jordan and Ryan, Colorado was their destination. Every single day I’m thankful to live in Colorado. Gina and I live for the outdoors and the 300+ days of adrenaline-filled sunshine. Whether I’m taking a run in the heat of a S... |
