One key ingredient to incredible photographs on your wedding day is the comfort level that you share with your photographer (or photographers). So how do you achieve this, assuming you don’t really know your photographer outside of the photography that you’ve seen on their website? One common way to make this happen, and what we recommend to every couple we book for weddings, is an engagement shoot. Engagement shoots in Vancouver are frequently occurring practices, and a big reason why is everyone gets comfortable with the motions and procedures that will (or should) occur on the wedding d... |
Engagement shoots are becoming more and more popular in Australia. They are a great way to celebrate your engagement as well as having a bit of a practice run before the big day! Courtney Raper sent me some images from a recent engagement session she photographed. It looks like a really fun and relaxed day.Posted by Emma Henderson... |
I loved this sweet engagement shoot when I first saw it- the whimsical, happy feel about it!. Kate and Bart took props with them to create their “Save The Date” cards- a pretty dress with a gorgeous pink flower, white balloons, bikes and my favourite- chalkboards! They plan to marry in Southern NSW later this year! Photos today are by Casandra at Caspix Happy Weekend! ... |
Morning lovelies! It’s been a while since we had an e-shoot here on Cap Classique, so I thought it was time to share this rustic one from Cape Town photographers Allan and Wendy Thomas of Art Photo. I just love the location they chose for their couple, Gary and Michelle – an abandoned house on a dairy farm outside Durbanville. It’s so mysterious, and the dilapidated buildings add a lot of texture to the photos. Don’t be afraid to try something different for your engagement shoot instead of the standard white tee shirts and jeans on the beach thing – your photographer may have some in... |
South Africans. We’re everywhere. And I don’t just mean where I live in South West London, where we basically run rampant, talking Afrikaans on the tube and buying biltong and Fritos from the corner shop. I mean that, in my experience, you can go to the most random place in the world and discover a South African connection. Walk down just about any street, and hear someone say ja. Sssh, but I think we’re secretly taking over the world. Take today’s engagement shoot, which is, by the way, ADORABLE. It took place in sunny Australia and the bride-to-be (Lili) is an Aussie but t... |
We just love it when a rockstar photographer like Trent Bailey teams up with a visionary mind like Molly of Glitter+Rye. Add in super adorable couple RG and Lisa, a Brooklyn rooftop overlooking the sunset, and you’ve got one fab engagement sesh. Molly set out to create a whimsical, “urban campsite” with lots of bohemian details – - the talent she has up her sleeve is insane, right? And, it’s no lie that Trent’s ethereal lighting in these shots brings us to our knees. A little secret from Molly: “Pulling from my collection of vintage sheets for glitter + rye, we chose colorful... |
Our next engagement session is from the utterly awesome Marin Kristine Photography! This is indeed a REAL engagement shoot of Chad and Vanessa and their sweet doggy! Tasty lemon and fresh blueberry cake included. A basket of fresh berries and powder blue vintage chaise lounge, all the elements to make the fields at sunset a dreamy love nest. The cake was designed by The Cake Shoppe and might I add looks delicious. I also would love to have Vanessa’s dress where in the world did she get that… so cute! I need that right now. Montreal, Montreal. Such a cute city. I seriously need to come for a visit soon. Pierre-olivier Briglio, Montreal area photographer, sent me over these pics and they were so fun I just had to put them up. The couple (Cristi and Mason) are super cute, the vintage-inspired furniture is charming and, well…I kinda love that it’s shot in an alley! One of our brides commented earlier this week that these incredible outdoor engagement sessions make us all want to drag our living room furniture outside for an impromptu shoot. Especially these cutesy vintage-inspired shoots. I’ve go... |
This sweet engagement session is just the perfect way to kick off the week! Lindsay and Brock chose the Castle House and Garden in Bonny Doon, California as the setting for their portraits – it was featured in a documentary “The Botany Of Desire” so photographer Claire Barrett gave the shoot a horticultural theme with seedlings, fresh vegetables, and garden plots. The curious animals are just too cute! ... |
We've totally got fall weddings on the brain, and I'm loving this sweet engagement shoot by Jen Lynne Photography at an apple orchard in Michigan.... |
