I love engagement photos because the bride and groom can really be themselves and express who they are as a couple. They are often in more of a relaxed setting and the couple can be more playful with the pictures compared to on their wedding day. The couple can get really creative with scenery, props, and attire to show off their personalities and announce to all their family and friends that they’re getting married! I’ve known couples who have gotten professional pictures taken as well as couples that have had family members or friends take pictures for them. A lot of photographer... |
Now that many couples have spring fever, and have woken up from their winter slumber, its time to get back into wedding mode. For the brides and grooms who did not take winter, they were eagerly awaiting the good weather to get their engagement shoots done. Our Studio took advantage of the warm weather and the results are some great engagement shots, at some of the most well know New Jersey locations. So, regardless of what part of the country you live in, get out there and get some great engagement photos!! ... |
{photos by Heather Waraksa}Engagement photos often start looking the same to me ... the same poses and the same smiles with originality swept to the side.Yet, the photos above made me take notice. Captivating and original without being too outside the box or overtly trendy. There is something so British and proper about them ... I imagine the couple attending a coveted boarding school with afternoon plans of horseback riding in the country. And I love the tease of preppy tartan ... Does anyone else think they could be included in Gossip Girl's cast? :o)... |
Gosh, missed yesterday, late today.....my good run of blogging every day has been broken!! I'm getting ready for my Fiji holiday tomorrow so plenty of jobs to get out before I leave, not to mention packing, trying to sell our house and a long list of other to-do's!Anyway ENGAGEMENT photos!! Whilst not so many of us do this here in New Zealand, in the US it seems to be quite popular and I think it's a brilliant idea. They're so creative and a lot of fun and they really allow your personality to shine through. Speak to your photographer about including it in your whole wedding package, and then ... |
I absolutely love engagement photos. Something about them seems so sweet. Could it be that it is the happiest time of the couples life up to that point? I think so. Everything is full of possibility and that is what I see in the pictures. It is also such a wonderful way to get to know your photographer BEFORE the big day. I would suggest going to some of you favorite places and having shots taken. Don't be afraid to have your photographer take candid shots as well. Chat with each other while they are shooting. I guarantee one of you will say something that will have the other in tears ( happy)... |
Oh my wonderful! I just viewed the photos from our engagement shoot last month and boy do I love them. Angela Stott, our very talented photographer, did an amazing job - she found funky, interesting places to shoot and was able to capture such great shots of us. I have to admit that on our drive home from the shoot Brian and I worried that our pictures might not turn out, not due to any fault of Angela’s, but because Brian and I just felt so silly most of the time - would our awkwardness come through in the pictures?! Well, we spent the two hours home from Asheville worrying about ... |
This past weekend Poppy Dude and I made the two hour journey home with our friend and photographer, Toni of TM2 Photography. As we set out that morning the air was cool and crisp…it was the perfect fall morning. I had been sick earlier in the week and was happy to be feeling better for our session. I can’t tell you how happy we were that Toni agreed to come home with us! Toni has taken many pictures of us in Lincoln, but for our engagement pictures Poppy Dude and I wanted the backdrops to be familiar places, places that hold meaning to us. Our session was an all day event! We took pictures... |
Love, love, love this picture from an engagement session by Procopio Photography!!!... |
I didn't think I was an engagement picture kind of gal - I mean my guy is an aspiring photographer so we take a lot of pictures already. That was until I started searching photographers more and seeing all of these fabulous "e-seesions" with couples - some are completely adorable and creative. But, even if we had secured a photographer already they would likely be in Hood River so we'll miss out on that experience. I'm a regular follower of August and After blog and she did a great DIY engagement session. Definitely the cost effective way to go (perfect for us since we are on... |
I was glad before that we did an engagement session with our photographer, Jay. And after seeing our photos we’re even happier that we did it! As I promised here are just a few of my favorites: We actually found out that Lilac Dude’s mom and dad had a picture like this taken on their honeymoon. All photos were taken by Jay Kossman of Digital504 Photography. ... |
