Since today (August 2nd) was supposed to be my engagement party...and it got cancelled, only to find out it didn't need to be...I thought I would write about the do's and don't's of an engagement party.An engagement party is typically held at least two months after the engagement, and no later than six months before the wedding--after that it's simply too close to all of the showers and the wedding itself, you don't want your guests thinking your just searching for more and more gifts. An Engagement PartyAfter we got engaged, we obviously starting thinking about a date. We picked December 11, 2010 because we both would have a few months to get settled after we graduate before the wedding.
