Here, the Valley of the Kings and many other dramatic and spectacular temples await. Read on for more information on wher... |

When picking a date for our wedding, we focused mainly on the weather conditions at the location of our ceremony and reception. However, when it came down to deciding on where we wanted to go for our honeymoon, we realized one of our very favorite places to visit didn’t have the ideal weather during the same time. We absolutely LOVE the Caribbeans, but we’re getting married in the fall and as most of you know, that means hurricane season. Geography is so not my thing. I know where the important things are on a map - like the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Hawaii - but ask me where Egypt is and all I can tell you is that it's somewhere "over there." I seriously used to dread being confronted with one of those tv or news shows that likes to test people's knowledge of current events. They would be like, "Hi there! Were currently doing a survey to gauge how smart the average American is. Can you tell us where Venezuela is on this unmarked map?" ... Silence... After staring open mouthed and wide eyed for about 20 seconds, I would gracefully p... |
Kricket was the sweetest bride a planner could ever ask for. She was always thinking of others first and never choosing to put her desires above others -- even when it came to selecting her gown! After a trip to her home in New Egypt, New Jersey, my first goal for this bashful bride was obvious... By the arrival of her wedding day, I had to find a way to allow my sweet and caring Kricket to she know she deserved to have her own version of a day that was uniquely hers... and then I would have to find a way to make it real AND beyond the best. Now, as sweet as my bride was, the wine... |
Photo: Courtesy of HarLex Whenever my grandmother packed a bag for some far-off place (she and my grandfather were frequent world travelers), she'd tie a large, multicolored yarn pompom to her suitcase handle. In a river of luggage coming down the airport conveyor belt, that fuzzy burst of color instantly asserted that this was Mary Ruth's suitcase. Whenever I fly now, I find myself wishing that I had my own grandmother-made luggage tag, not only because it would easily distinguish my generic black bag from the rest, but also because I'd think of my grandmother ... |
