• A trend started by the great Amy Atlas in NYC, dessert bars are all the rage--at least they are in the blogging world. However, I feel like this great trend still hasn't really hit the Pacific NW. Trying to find a dessert bar vendor in my home state of Oregon seems to be a devilish task. After scouring Google I only found one vendor-- who while extremely tasty (I've eaten one of their desserts before) is also extremely expensive. So I'm calling out to any of my Oregon or SW Washington readers who might know of or have previously used a vendor to create their own dessert bar. Please comment bel...

You are seeing all kinds of different dessert options at weddings these days which certainly makes me happy b/c I love dessert!  But, remember the ornate multi tier traditional fondant wedding cake of days past...you know...like this one.  Awww, so cute - those are my folks!Don't get me wrong, I love me some cake but I'm not a fan of the cake cutting, throw-cake-in-your-face bit. If we were going to do that it would be this cake!{via} Martha Stewart WeddingsI love coconut (and limes) so maybe a "put the lime in the coconut" cake? There are some different smaller and creative...

  • I still love dessert bars and I still love the relaxed Australian feel we always stamp on them! Perhaps it is the fact I’m alwayys putting this blog post together when I’m hungry, perhaps it is the sheer pretty nature of sweet treats laid out for guests to feast on. I’m not sure, but they do make me oh so happy! Kristy at Imbue Weddings sent over this dessert bar she calls the “Hamptons Dessert Bar”. Imbue Weddings “Signature Collection” has colour scheme of soft whites, creams, browns and beige with the prettiest, peppiest blue! I love how Kristy decorated her table today. Soft ...

Amy Atlas has been at it again…designing the most GORGEOUS dessert bar you have ever seen. This one, is sprinkled with touches of lavender and white, snow-kissed with glitter and perfection… Karen Mordechai captured the drool-worthy images, and although they are stunning…I totally fault her for eating an entire container of marshmallows.  The buffet was created for Elegant Bride and the Wedding Library’s Wedding Event at the New York Palace and included a crystal wedding cake adorned with sugar snowflakes, opalescent barber poles, billowy marshmallows, and fondant snowflake petit for...
