As I was browsing through Martha Stewart Weddings this morning, I came across this fun blue and brown damask cake and it suddenly occurred to me that all you really need to kick start your wedding planning is one central piece to use as inspiration. Take this cake for example—using this color scheme and fashionable print, I hopped on Wedding Paper Divas and found a few stationery designs to match, then started an online search for flowers, favors and more. After just a few minutes, I had a whole celebration planned! What’s your central wedding inspiration? Damask, Damask Everywhere... |

This is the patio right outside of our tent and it's ours to use during the reception. There will be some high-top tables out there complete with green linens, damask ties and candles. A couple of weeks ago I had the idea to put some pillows on the benches and when I found 14" pillow forms for $2/piece I went for it! I also bought some inexpensive green fabric, thinking we could put one green and one damask pillow on each bench. When my Mom reported that there was just enough fabric left for the pillows she got to work, and this weekend she sent me this:They're so cute I can hardly stand ... |

So excited about one of this weekends cakes. I am a traditional girl at heart and will always fall back on the classics. So as the cake parade proceeded out today, this gorgeous three tier damask cake caught my eye. I love the way the pattern is broken up a little on the middle tier with a monogram. Classic, elegant, and personal. Flavor you ask? Chocolate with strawberry jam. I can’t help but wonder how the top will be dressed. ... |
All of these things would fall into the category of stuff I don't really need but want anyway (its quite a large category, actually). Kelly sent me an email about this damask packing tape from organize.com... And that, of course, led me to find that Two's Company has an entire line called Home Chic Home: There are even Ziploc and garbage bags! It took a little searching, but you can find them for sale online hereAnd I swear I didn't just order some of the Ziploc bags for OOT goodies. I swear...... |
The above picture was shot by Anna Kuperberg, but I found them because the fabulous Jessica Claire was part of the wedding party! The rest of the images are from Jessica's blog. As far as I can tell the color scheme was black, white, and pink & there were beautiful touches of damask all over the reception. My favorite part by far are the lamps:What a great way to create a tall centerpiece without using flowers...I really love that lamp. And here is close-up of another table:I also enjoy that the tables are all square. I still don't know if that's an option for our venue, but I am definite... |
Monica is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. She emailed me a few months ago to help her make custom inserts for her bridal shower. She purchased invitations elsewhere, but wanted to include a custom Wishing Well card that coordinated with her existing invitations. We also designed coordinating address labels that will go on the front of her hot pink envelopes.{I'm getting so much better at making up fake names and addresses!}The printed cards will have moss green twine wrapped around the top of the card, underneath Wishing Well and above the phrase.Next up was her Welcome Basket Sign. Then, ... |
