Scott Williams PhotographyGenerally we associate velvet as a heavy-weight napped fabric, that great conductor of warmth ideal for winter wedding gowns. The cut velvet seen here is a different story. Joe Bagley emailed me the other day to let me know about his fabulous paper cut illustrations, all of which totally took my breath away. He specializes in custom creations, offering a paper cut illustration of the chapel you were married in, the park where you met, or a pattern that reflects your culture. His Mexican inspired illustrations are absoluteley amazing, as well as his circular, more art deco inspired pieces. A custom piece would be an amazing gift, husband to new wife, vice versa, or even as a first anniversary present. Check him out!... |

The cake knife and server should be ... |

Kitchen Krafts claims the hip-to-be-rectangular shape makes the filling less likely to ooze out while serving. And the pan is marked to guide you where to make make your cuts, so nobody will brat out about someone else getting a bigger piece. There's also the maze-like Edge Brownie Pan from Baker's Edge, which promises at least two edges on every serving and fewer undercooked, goopy mi... |
