Bridal Shower Idea: Cupcakes are not just for kids. Have a cupcake-themed bridal shower. Decorate tables with these floral cupcakes from 1-800-FLOWERS ($24.99 each). Have each girl bring along a copy of her favorite cupcakes recipe (and samples if they can). Gift adorable cupcake mix boxes from Beau Coup ($5 each) as favors, or give guests a gift card to a local cupcake store or a cupcake recipe book (these are on clearance all the time at Barnes and Noble). Check out Birthday Express for cupcake-inspired decorations, like cupcake pinatas (I LOVE this idea), cupcake balloons, and cupcake cand... |
Cupcakes are so in right now! Gone are the days of traditional triple tiered cakes laced in layers of icing. While some brides are still continuing the tradition, recently many have opted for something different. I myself think cupcakes are cute and sweet. Although you probably won’t save that much money getting cupcakes instead of a cake. They do cost about $5 for one which is about what you would pay per slice. Taking that into consideration, I still think it’s a fun way to add something different to your wedding. Cupcakes are so different these days. Not just your boxed version anymore,... |
Happy Friday!!!I have been on a cupcake kick lately.....I mean I am always into cupcakes but more than normal lately. I recently discovered Sift cupcakery in downtown Napa (and Cotati). They have a Snickerdoodle cupcake that is out of this world. I am honestly addicted. Based on my new addiction I have found some amazing cupcake ideas for those who want to fore go the traditional cake idea. Cupcakes are a wonderful alternative. They are portable and easy to carry around and they can be offered in many different flavors. Have a great weekend and I will leave you with these phenomenal cupcakes f... |

Inexpensive Reception Idea: Afternoon cupcakes and champagne. Perhaps have an one-hour appetizer reception before the wedding ceremony, then a 2-hour dessert reception afterward. End before dinnertime. You'll save money on alcohol, food, and music, and still leave your guests feeling like they had a full day.... |
Wedding cupcakes from around SoCal. In the early 19th century, there were two different uses for the name “cup cake” or “cupcake”. In previous centuries, before muffin tins were widely available, the cakes were often baked in individual pottery cups, ramekins, or molds and took their name from the cups they were baked in. This is the use of the name that has persisted, and the name of “cupcake” is now given to any small cake that is about the size of a teacup. The name “fairy cake” is a fanciful description of its size, which would be appropriate for a party of diminutive fair... |

Are you making cupcakes for your own wedding (more power to you)? Maybe your just making them for a shower. At any rate, I love to bake, which is no secret to those who know me well. So, it is no surprise that when I found this kit, I just had to buy it. Bake It Pretty This kit comes with four large piping tips (round, star, closed star and french), plus a 14 inch reusable pastry bag. There are many reasons why I love this kit. But the biggest reason is that the pastry bag is reusable (hello eco-friendly). I have a bunch of disposable pastry bags at home and they are a pain in the bu... |
