I saw this idea on 100 Layer Cake a while back and bookmarked it hoping we could use it somehow in the wedding. After figuring out our table look it turns out it fits in perfect so we (or should I say 95% my Guy) started working on tin can table numbers over the weekend. We used the tutorial from 100 Layer Cake but changed it up a bit (used spray paint inside can vs paper). Also the one thing it doesn't tell you is the size tin can to use. We only had the two pound coffee cans and thought they looked massive but turns out that is the size they use in the tutorial and you almo... |

Tin can floral arrangements are incredibly charming, but also add that extra vintage touch to your wedding decor. If you cannot find those perfect vintage-tin-cans, another option is to paint everyday vegetable or coffee cans or make covers for the containers. We just so happen to have a diy wedding project that covers this very topic. After you have figured out your can situation, place simple yet striking florals like the anemones you see in this styled shoot. Use a little moss or floral foam and voila, you have an instant wedding centerpiece. Annabella Charles and Haute Horticulture are t... |
These are great examples of reusing everyday items for floral decor. The top picture is from Rachel Ray's Centerpiece of the Month. I really like this, but I think the key to making this work so well is using a variety of labeled cans, and then matching the flowers to the colors on the labels. The bottom left picture is a creative idea from Emily at Eco Chic Weddings where she slipped a leftover coffee container around a plain vase to spruce it up a bit. And the bottom right picture is an adorable hand painted, vintage watering can, perfect for a garden or summer themed wedding.... |

I literally choked on my morning coffee when I saw these images shot by Jennifer Skog Photography. Uh…Now that I’ve nearly died, I’ll go ahead and stop for a moment while I catch my breath and recover from sensory overload. *sigh* Moving on. These images are from two separate events, neither of which were real weddings, but a girl can’t help dreaming, can she? Click on the links below for design credits. Photography by Jennifer Skog. Sarah from Classic Bride is back with us every Friday to share a few of her favorite finds, inspiration and ideas for chic, classic weddings. Here’s this week’s find: Is there anything more simple … more classic … more darling than stringing cans to the tail of the bride and groom’s getaway car? I’ve always loved the tradition and I adore when there’s a slight twist or tweak to the old standby … painting the cans white or dolling it up with pretty ribbons … fabulous! “I can accept stupidity, but can’t accept people being proud of it!” Rod Anker’s post on one of his favourite blogs—www.weddingsutra.com/blog I was left speechless. Recently, I was talking to a social acquaintance and the conversation was around quality standards and he said: “It’s India, they won’t know the difference.” I was angry, frustrated and taken aback. After all, I’m an expat who has been brought into India to run a creative business, and my job I envisaged was to do everything and beyond to improve standards and quality.” I kept thinking about the conversation ... |
Am I really 25?! OMG. I’ve hit the age (and actually surpassed it in most cases) of the people I used to watch on MTV, Saturday mornings, and Snick. Admiring them, wanting to be like them, dress like them..but I guess the teased hair, big t-shirts with the tied knot on the side, and blue eye shadow is past me now. Thank goodness! At 25, I’m in a completely different place from where I thought I would be – in every way. Good and bad. Despite all that, I have learned more, experienced more, and did more than I ever thought I would. And for this, I’m so grateful. Thanks to the support of... |
