Here are some images of the tent at The Abbey, and pictures of the private patio outside of it. The patio is towards the back, we were told there are usually some lights out there with high-top tables that can be decorated!...

Being in Florida, we get a lot of requests for outdoor weddings.  It's common to find ceremony space outside, but planning an entire reception outdoors carries a lot of weather risk.  So what do we do?  Rent a tent and depending on the season, have air conditioners or heaters on standby.      Tented weddings can be ballroom-style grandiose, or quaint and outdoorsy.  You can play up the natural surroundings or bring the inside out and add chandeliers, carpet, and furniture.  The wonderful thing about tented weddings is that you begin with a blank slate in which to create y...

Travel Update- Friday, September 19th-  Today we're crossing the border to Botswana's Chobe National Park for game drives and boat trips in one of the most concentrated areas of wildlife in all of Africa. We should see giraffes, zebras, impalas, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs, and elephants!  I can't wait! Today's gorgeous blog post is from Blair, all about the exotic, dreamy event tenting and decor from Raj Tents. Truly stunning and memorable! Without a doubt, I adore Raj Tents! Every time I see one of their gorgeous designs, I am transported to a place of absolute ease ...

That is the question we get so often!  Tents ensure that your outdoor event will be a success, come rain or come shine. (Or snow and sleet! ) In the sweltering summer months, we love to create fabulous tented parties and outdoor air-conditioned rooms (if preferred) that provide your guests and our flowers with hours of comfort!   But, every so often, Mother Nature offers up the gift of a perfect summer evening.  On those rare occasions, when we are lucky enough not to tent,  magic can happen under the stars! Below are a few beautiful photos of a wedding we planned and d...

It's our job as planners to ensure that all of our bases are covered in order to create not only a beautiful, but successful wedding or event for our clients. Many times this means providing our expertise in terms of rental items, staging, tenting, Plan B reservations, and overall logistical coordination when planning an outdoor event. If anyone saw the Bachelor wedding last month, you likely cringed like we did when it started dumping on the wedding ceremony (though the couple actually had fun with it)! The last week or so in Southern California has been totally unpredictable in terms of weat...

  • When traveling to an exotic locale for a destination wedding, most couples would chose not to host their reception indoors (weather permitting of course).  But what if you want that formal grandeur of a traditional wedding just as much as the beautiful backdrop and scenery you’ve selected?  Try a tent!  From a clear top to culturally infused designs and patterns, you can host your shindig under a tent with or without walls, while still getting to enjoy the gorgeous view behind you. {Photos: All photos via Raj Tents except middle left photo: The Knot} Raj Tents is definitely a trendsetter ...

Nadia from La Porte Rouge had the opportunity to live in a tent by the sea for several weeks. I found her posts so inspiring. I'd love to try living in a tent for a little while. It sounds lovely....

  • We recently did a wedding in New Buffalo, Michigan with Sperry Tents Great Lakes, an affiliate of Sperry Tents and a vendor we adore. It's pretty neat to see how the process of installing a tent plays out. You'll have to stay tuned to see the final product, but this is about as close as we can take you.Step 1: Ground is tarped and beams are laid out below the subflooring so as to allow the subfloor to be built a couple of inches off the ground. This allows the grass below the tent to breathe (a.k.a. step one: don't kill the grass) and also keeps the tent in tip top, clean shape.Step 2: The...

The boutique tents were so popular last week, I thought I’d share another tent that’s a favorite of mine…the Sperry Tent. We used a Sperry from Skyline Tent Rental a few weeks ago at Tuckahoe Plantation. Sperry Tents are made of sailcloth and their poles are made of pine. Add some candle light to the mix and the Sperry Tent will feel radiant and warm. {images courtesy Skyline Tent Company}...
