Nothing could make me happier than watching one of my brides get married in a picturesque kingdom by the sea. Kalmar Castle in Sweden is the ultimate Once-Upon-a-Time experience for a romantic wedding. Elin chose the 'Mira' dress from my Dioresque Collection to work with the backdrop of her August 15 wedding to Anton. For me, first thoughts of Sweden conjure up toy-village castles and pastel painted facades like this one. These images are by the very talented Stockholm photographer, Erika Gerdemark . With a great deal of instinct and sensitivity she has captured the most important day in Elin ...

Phew… I think it’s time for a gorgeous wedding today, don’t you? Something to enjoy, smile, admire and swoon a little for. Martyn Norsworthy fits the bill – an award winning wedding photographer based in gorgeous Devon, he sent me photographs from Maria and Lloyd’s dreamy Dartmouth Castle wedding and I settled back to swoon over these very special moments, images and more from a stunning wedding day. I really think you’ll love these pictures: half wedding story and half inspiring details with a gorgeous bride in an Ian Stuart wedding dress – this is right up my street for creativ...

  • Erin and Shaun tied the knot on Sept. 18, 2011 at the breathtaking Hatley Castle in British Columbia, Canada.  Erin, quite the creative bride, knew just what she wanted for the big day.  A mixture of “Anthropologie, vintage, whimsical, and elegant” was on the menu, according to wedding planners Candeo Weddings.  And that’s exactly what the couple got!  A beautiful garden ceremony with sweet vintage details and a reception on the castle terrace reminiscent of an old world wedding. The palette was a collection of pale pinks and blues with the men wearing shades of grey ...

Every bride should feel like a Princess on her big day!  And if you are a bride that wants the full-on royal treatment, then you are likely going with a fairytale or Cinderella themed wedding.   If you’ve found your Prince Charming, then a “Happily Ever After” or “Dreams Do Come True” wedding where your dressed in a voluminous white ball gown and you arrive at the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage may be the vision you have for an ideal wedding.  Of course, no fairytale wedding is complete without the castle so why not incorporate that component directly into the wedding cake. ...

Passports in hand and we are off to Germany to the Castle Neuenburg for the wedding of Jania and Kurt. I went and visited the web site to check out the venue, which looks lovely. However, I do not speak a lick of German so, I have no idea what anything says. But, I do know the ceremony was held in the little chapel of the castle, very intimate and romantic. I also know that there is a beautiful little carousel on the property that made for the perfect backdrop for some photos. Especially of Jania’s breathtaking Jenny Packham gown. How stunning does she look in it? We want to thank the ever ...

I am truly in awe of this morning’s gorgeous real wedding, shared by incredible photographers Justin & Mary. I just love Angela and Andrew’s love story and the timeless elegance they infused throughout their celebration. The story goes, Angela and Andrew very well could have met in the tiny unheard of town of Siguenza, Spain four years ago when they both visited a castle there just two weeks apart. Or, they could have met when they both lived in Astoria, just five blocks apart. But they didn’t. They met as new co-workers riding the subway to work. In honor of finally having fou...

Filed under: Destination CeremoniesYes, there are castles all over the world. If a real castle can be less than a couple hundred years old, we even have some here in North America! But if you want a lot of choice for your castle venue? It sure looks like Scotland is the place to be! The country appears to be full to bursting with castles: big ones, small ones, pretty ones, rugged ones, pristine castles, crumbling castles ... Whatever your castle preference, they have it. Unless you want pretty white fairy-tale castle. Them they don't got.But history? Rugged natural beauty? Pipers and men in kil...
