As a young girl, my Uncle Charlie would take my cousin and I to Coney Island once a summer and send us for a ride on the B & B Carousel. Unlike a regular carousel, the B & B moved fast… very, fast. It probably went about 3x as fast as a regular carousel and if you sat on the outer ring of horses, you could reach up and try and collect brass rings from a dispenser as you went around. Being Coney in the 80′s, and being fast, the Carousel attracted a crowd that ranged from kids with parental escorts to cool teens on dates starting their evenings out on the board... |
Once upon a time, many years ago a carousel stood on the shores of Melbourne’s Albert Park lake. Today Carousel has been built into a glorious event venue with amazing views of Melbourne’s skyline. Featuring the original carousel floor and fitted out with natural tones, Carousel also features a wooden deck which is perfect for pre dinner drinks and canapés. All catering and event design is covered by food&desire headed up John van Haandel who is behind such Melbourne treasures such as The Stokehouse and Circa, The Prince. I remember being a little girl and LOVING the magical ride of the carousel ponies. It was always the highlight at the county fair for my little sisters and me. Nothing could match the excitement of picking out "my horse" - and always seeking the fastest looking horse I could find! (Ummm..or picking out the horse that had the best hair...errrr...mane) I found an equal amount of excitement in taking Clara on the carousel this past weekend. She is so tiny she of course didn't know what was going on - but I can't help but think she loved it too :-) ... |
I’m not 100% sure how to start this post, as it’s hard to describe such amazing images. Megan and Mike are such a fun loving couple, and Joanna captures them perfectly. I love the quirky fairground setting, full of colour and life and memories. Followed by those stunning pebble beach shots and a cuppa in an unusal cafe. Uh..may…zingggg. Thanks so much to the incredible Sussex based wedding photographer, Browns Photography for sharing her images today, here is what she had to say about the day; “It is not many times that I can say that pretty much this shoot was crammed full of stuff ... |
