{Chartreuse, Teal & Black}Merica, a bride-to-be, planning her summer of 09' wedding wrote to me about her modern & sophisticated wedding plans. In this design, when chartreuse meets turquoise, a fun balance is achieved. Add in the simplicity of black-and its truly a perfect palette. Submerged centerpieces really stole the show and added that sense of modern sophistication that the bride and groom were going for, while invitations incorporated a whimsical and unique design. The space was covered in votive candles which made for an ambiance that was unmatched, and guests left the party...

Monster Halloween Party You’ll see another stunning wedding feature next Wednesday, but for Halloween week, we just have too many spooktacular parties and inspiration to share! This party, submitted by Party Box Design, is one of our favorites. Designed in teal, orange, and black with polka dots and damask, this party is styling! One of our favorite parts? The chic Halloween bar – and guess what? This was a THRIFT STORE find and with a bit of sanding, staining, and painting, it was only $85! Great job, Jess! I just recently found lots of milk glass and fabulous vases at a local thrift sto...

I am loving this combination, it's so striking. Very crisp and classic, yet modern all at the same time. Use different shades of teal to create depth and texture. I guess you immediately think of the sea when you use this colour but it works so well for an inner city wedding as well.Row 1 from left: photo by Tec Petaja, Vintage Stamps via 100 Layer Cake, photo from Martha StewartRow 2: photo from Martha Stewart, bride & car photo by Katie MoosRow 4: Headband and Bird Necklace from Etsy....

{Teal, Black, White & Aqua}I absolutely love this combination of blues and damask. This combination is best for indoor receptions and even better for ballroom settings. I absolutely love the idea of repeating a motif, pattern or monogram in a wedding or event. This wedding is fun yet still elegant at the same time. A perfect blend of elegance and fun is generally the mood that most of my brides try so hard to achieve.Click to EnlargeFavorite Details: Customized monogram, Damask pattern on purse, Trim on Bridesmaid dressYou Might Also Like... ...

  • 2009 Forecast states: Teal is the new color for the new year! As many know at IC, I am not a huge fan of blue. Green on the other hand is a keeper. Then there comes teal, this unassuming color that meets blue and green somewhere in the middle. I could live with teal. It is bright and vivid. I have heard through the rumor mill that teal this season will be paired quite a bit with grey (another color spoke of this fall often) and black and white. Why not mix it up and go wild with combinations such as teal and bright yellow and teal and lilac purple or even teal and lime green! So keep an eye ...

  • This gorgeous vintage inspired black gown by Ulyana Sergeenko was the inspiration behind today’s inspiration board. Screen captures from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo I love watching movies on my laptop while I’m working on tedious repetitive projects. Usually I have the movie showing in a little box in the corner of my screen. However 5 minutes into The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and my work file was forgotten and the film was full screen! The story is thrilling (after seeing this I went to the library so I could read all three books in the trilogy). But the visuals of this film are what really hooked me. The set design is truly stunning. The color palette of this film, which is a dark thriller set ...

I’m in an inspiration board mood the last few days!  I know that I’ve used this Lazaro bridesmaids dress before but I simply love it and it is a great centerpiece for a teal wedding.
