• Being from Hawaii everyone assumed I would get married there. With its beautiful beaches, tropical flowers and all my friends and family, it was a hard decision to make. Partly due to convenience and also because I wanted something different, we chose to get married here. It was a sacrifice and I must admit, I still fantasize about Hawaii weddings every once in awhile. The sounds of the waves crashing on the warm sand and the fragrant smell of plumerias close by. The good thing is I see a lot of people having island weddings while not necessarily in the islands. By incorporating colors like oc...

  • I’m totally and completely obsessed with today’s inspiration shoot captured by Tiny Water Photography.  A team of talented event professionals, lead by Amber of Platinum Planning, designed a beach wedding shoot unlike any other that I’ve seen.  With the movie, Endless Summer in mind, they took inspiration from the silver screen and interpreted it into a vintage beach party we would have loved to attend!  So many great ideas for the casual but detail driven destination beach wedding. All the surf inspired paper products were designed with fun and a sense of nostalgia by ...

  • I feel a little spoilt! Today I  showcase the result of a competition for a styled shoot held last year, but the best part? The winner was the gorgeous Nicky of Chasing Rainbows, Kissing Frogs. Nicky joined a glamorous team of Queensland wedding vendors to create a vintage beach inspiration shoot. Together, the team used rich, jewel toned colours and created a different kind of “beach wedding”.Nicky (with her fingers on the pulse of weddings) loved the new take on beach vintage styling. She explains  “Vintage styling is a huge trend in weddings right now. When you think of ...

  • Kristen Ashton and Kylie Keene of Paper Fox Studio teamed up with Joanne Walsh of Posy Florist for this morning’s beach wedding inspiration shoot. I love the rich citrus tones – a contrast to the often softer colours we see at beach weddings.Kirsten of Paper Fox Studio told me “I’ve always wanted to shoot a beach wedding, but as yet, haven’t had a client who was having one. Laurie and Myles had their dream wedding two years ago, a beautiful golf course set up and everything they ever dreamed of. They recently welcomed baby Ruby into the world and when I was photographing her, Laurie ...

  • Calli of Calli B Photography sent over this a little while ago where she collaborated with Events By Design and Mondo Floral Designs to style a mock Noosa beach wedding setup. The girls have styled this gorgeous beach side wedding  fresh, rustic details. I can just imagine the bride walking down the aisle in her bare feet. These creamy wooden chairs look superb decorated with strings of shells. The cream and beige cushion cover immediately makes the ceremony on the beach become a little more formal while not loosing the dreamy beachside feel. Brightly coloured starfish in reds and whites lay...

I just finished up Rachel and Shawn’s custom beach wedding invitations. The pocketfolder invitation style was the perfect choice for their destination wedding in Florida. Adorned with beachy watercolors like seahorses, seaturtles, palm trees, and more! The folder is fitting sand metallic and the front tab and inside layer is buttercream lined in bronze metallic. They will marry under the palm trees I hand-painted for their information card. They both LOVE scuba diving and wanted to incorporate all they love on their wedding stationery. Whimsical yet still elegant! P.S. – Pardon ...

Photo: Ryan Jensen Photography Sarah and Juan first met in the New York City subway after both discovered they were standing on the wrong platform. "After we realized our mutual mistake, we started talking," says Sarah. At their wedding, she wore a Melissa Sweet gown and carried a bouquet of nigella, roses, ranunculuses, and lisianthuses. All floral design was by Nancy Saam Flowers. Juan wore a Banana Republic suit and accessorized with a gift from the bride—cuff links by Sherry Truitt that featured a map of the subway station where they met. ...
