Blooming elegance emanates from a tabletop dripping with roses, peonies, amaryllis, orchids, gladiolas and plum branches. A salmon colored linen contrasted with chocolate brown details creates a stunning design for a refined engagement. This was featured in the Los Angeles 2009 edition of Ceremony Magazine. Donna – the lovely bride who’s engagement session we featured just a few days ago – had a special request for us.  She wanted us to photograph her at ballet practice.  But she was quick to point out that ballet isn’t all about tu-tus and pretty costumes.  A dancer is molded by years of hard work, and a copious amount of blood, sweat and tears.  Donna wanted a raw, grungy ballet session that honored the grittiness that underlies this graceful art. This was such a fun session for us because we got to photograph something entirely new to us, which is always invigorating. Â... |
From the minute I donned my first tutu I knew I had to be a ballerina. I would eventually find out that it wasn't the most realistic of dreams, but I, like most other little girls wanted to feel like one whenever possible. I jumped on any excuse to prance around in a bun and a tutu, whether it was halloween or a trip to the grocery store. A birthday party is the perfect excuse to let your little one and her friends wear their fluffiest tutus and practice their pirouettes. Check with a local dance studio to see if they do parties and give the girls a private birthday dance clas... |
This ballerina shoot slay sme. Pretty, elegant and cool. I adore the whimsical yet funky feel of these and the backdrop with the pom poms, birdcages, clothes and industrial feeling location add some much needed quirkiness to the set. Thanks to Paula for sharing these today Edit: The outfit was a tulle skirt and simple vest top put together by the stylist and the hair piece was by Rachel Larraine on Etsy ... |

Photo Courtesy of Paisley and PosiesGrowing up, one of my favorite books was Angelina Ballerina. The story follows a fictional mouse who loves to dance and dreams of becoming a ballerina. Like many girls who have read the book, I encouraged my mom to instantly enroll me in dance and gymnastic lessons. So as you prepare for your big day, why not give your fabulous flower girl the chance to be her very own Angelina Ballerina?Paisley and Posies, an adorable line of custom tutus for kids, wants every flower girl to feel like a princess on the wedding day. Have you heard about The Ballerina Project? As described on their facebook page, The Ballerina Project grew from the idea of New York City as a magnet for creativity; each photograph is a collaborative work of dance, fashion design and photography played out against the city's landscape.I'm in love. I want to purchase a piece from this collection but I'm having a hard time choosing a favourite. The following are at the top of my love list; however, the rest of the collection is equally stunning.
