I couldn’t resist posting some images this morning from stylist, Emily Henderson’s, lovely backyard wedding. Gayle Brooker is the photographer behind the beautiful images below and I think she did a marvelous job capturing their celebration. And how amazing is Emily’s dress? She found it on ebay… Photography by Gayle Brooker... |
There is a new trend this summer with wedding receptions: the backyard wedding. Brides and grooms are saving a bunch of money on their reception location and spending a bit more on food and other parts of their wedding. If you decide to go the route of a backyard wedding, don’t let it become another backyard boring wedding. The benefits of holding your reception or wedding in the backyard are very tempting. You can choose any caterer you want, and menu, have a different and unique wedding without the same old church hall or reception hall backdrops. You can begin or end whenever you want (ba... |
I remember watching the remake of Father of the Bride and laughing at the two very different visions both father and mother had for their daughter’s backyard wedding. Today, this quaint notion of marrying in a simple backyard is fresher than ever and trust me can be extremely luxurious and beautiful. South Florida is home to some of the most amazing estates in the country. Think oceanfront or waterfront, privacy and splendidness. It’s a recipe for a magical wedding. An Oceanfront Estate featured on The Campins Company. ... |

Today’s wedding has a special place in my heart because it’s the wedding of friends of mine. Mardi and Jed are high school sweethearts, so it was a no-brainer that they get married in our hometown of Ocala, Florida. “Spring” and “southern” were the exact words that they wanted their wedding to reflect, and it most certainly did that! Everything was absolutely gorgeous and so reflective of their personalities- fun, bright, and classy. Everything took place in Mardi’s grandparents’ backyard, and they were married by Jed’s father. It was truly a family affair! Samantha of J. Mon... |

Fresh back from a stag/stagette weekend at the cottage, I thought I’d keep with my outdoorsy frame of mind and share this adorable San Diego backyard wedding shot by the lovely Rachel Thurston. There’s no shortage of charm and family, communal spirit in this outdoor wedding party. Brooke and Luke, our bride and groom, shied away from the traditions of a typical wedding and spiced up their day with ice cream and party games. Talk about a jam! I really love how much fun the kids are having at this wedding. A day they’ll be sure to remember for a long time… Brooke’s own thought... |
What he remembers most is the Shamu the Whale blanket she'd wrap around her shoulders. Paired with slippers, Michelle rolled into school having looked like she just rolled out of bed. And, strangely, Will liked it. Of all the other girls at their high school, Michelle seemed the most low-maintence and carefree. Having just transferred, Will caught the eyes of most the girls, but when he was asked to prom by the most popular girl at school, Michelle's hopes were dashed. She--and her Shamu blanket--couldn't compete with that. A few months later, Michelle and Will became friends and he soon... |
Happy Wednesday, all!!! Today I have a crafty backyard wedding for you, sent over by Krista Marie Photography! Kristine + Matt originally planned to have a large wedding, but plans changed, and they opted for an intimate backyard bash instead. Kristine did a great job of putting this wedding together on a tight budget. I love the ceremony space she created with a grouping of old doors. It really transformed the space! ... |
