One of the problems with holding a wedding halfway across the country is that a lot of our local friends aren’t able to make the trip. With that in mind, one of our lovely bridespeople decided to throw us a bachelorette party to give the locals who can’t make it a chance to hang out with us and celebrate our nuptials. It was a hoot! Now, I’ve always thought that bachelor(ette) parties were a little weird. I mean, if you’re getting married you’re obviously pretty far from being single, so it seems sort of strange to go out and hit on people all night. If I’m going to get dr... |
I have a problem: I’m afraid my wedding isn’t going to be as much fun as my bachelorette party. I guess that’s a good problem to have…right? I had the BEST weekend in Atlantic City with a fantastic group of friends! My weekend began on Friday after work when Kate treated me to martinis and a manicure/pedicure at Dashing Diva! It was great to catch up with her here because we knew we wouldn’t get a whole lot of personal catch up time in Atlantic City. I woke up bright and early on Saturday morning because I was so excited to get going to Atlantic City. Maria, Kerry, and Corinne met ... |
Kim's friend contacted me Thursday to make Bachelorette invitations - and of course, she needed them right away. :) Luckily, she knew what she wanted and they came together really fast. To see my other B-party invites, click here.... |
I have to admit, I enjoyed watching this seasons Bachelorette, especially with girls who all have their favs. As you know The Yes Girls are all about proposals so it’s only natural we watch a show pertaining to a final proposal. I would definitely recommend a proposal in Bora Bora or for a honeymoon, however, I wish ABC would find a way to switch up the proposal. It’s always the same kind of set up and scene. At least set up a table with the couple’s photos and champagne to personalize it. I do think Ali and Roberto are pretty adorable though. In case you missed it, here’s a little r... |
To say that I'm just a tad bit busy for the next few months would be an understatement. Being an auditor at the end of busy season, running a fairly brand new business {that is bursting at the seams with business}, maintaining two blogs and attempting to be a newlywed & purchase a home has left me just a little tired. So, instead of leaving you high and dry without a blog post, I thought that I would share some of my favorite blog posts from my other little blog, penned & pretty, with you over the next few days. This penned & pretty post features my favorite bachelorette invitation ... |
I don't do many, but bachelorette invites are fun in that they are themes I would never do on a wedding invitation. This one was inspired by the first stop of the night - a fondue restaurant for dessert. The strawberry envelopes are a really fun addition too.... |
My MOH planned a fantastic Bachelorette weekend in Cleveland. The entire event began with goofy bachelorette presents including feather boas for everyone and some seductive items for me… Then we headed out for a photo scavenger hunt. That included finding goofy sunglasses for everyone While running around doing the scavenger hunt, several people seemed to think it was my birthday which resulted in a large group of teenagers singing happy birthday to me as they walked behind us. Then we all went to see the movie Bridesmaids and had a lot of laughs. We grabbed some food, changed and hit th... |
Have you ever been in charge of a Bachelorette party? These are some things I learned from the last bachelorette party I hosted. First, I asked the bride what she wanted and what her comfort levels were. She said she wanted lots of fun and some innocent thrills. One idea for the adventurous type is tell all your guests to dress up- no, not cute club clothes but to a theme, like women of the Amazon, or French Maids, or James Bond Girls. For my party I created a scavenger hunt for my friend. First we went to a club, and I brought Mardi Gras necklaces in bulk. For every item completed on the list ... |
