It’s no secret that purple is the color I chose as the “it” color for this year, so of course I love this palette. It’s one of those that looks great at any time of the year. Image courtesy of Tinywater Photography via With This Ring Blog and The Bride’s Cafe ... |
Inspired by the Oblation invite from Minted, I give you a board filled with sophisticated purples and platinum. {Image Credits: Jim Hjelm, Michele Waite, Nordstrom, iVillage, Peggy Porschen, Oblation via Minted, Brides, Impressionen, Green Vase} I have a dream of a bride walking the aisle in the top left dress. Wouldn’t it be perfect?! I also love this CeCi invite in the same colors…. I think I am in love! A. ... |
Tara wrote to me a few months ago (patient Tara!) requesting an inspiration board for her wedding. She’s marrying at Nathania Springs (the photo in the top right of the board), a venue in the forest and wants to incorporate the old world country charm of the venue with greens and splashes of vivid purples. My take on her style was to put a little secret garden twist onto it, little touches that make guests feel like they’ve entered another world. I see Tara in her dream ballgown with her fiancee in black tie, guests are entranced by the sweet green smell of the forest, hidden with secret a... |

You may disagree with what I’m calling these colors, but I’m sure you’ll agree that this color palette is BEAUTIFUL! I love when pairs of color really pop together. And the touch of gold in this palette softens the whole thing out. Favorite find? The paper butterflies from Bella Celestina. For $1.25, you get 60 of them. HELLO! Can you even deal with that kind of greatness? Can’t you see these as escort cards? Or perhaps strung together on fishing line and hung from above? It’s too much. I can’t handle it. Now don’t get me started on the cake! Will someone PLEASE use this color sc... |

The leading color trend for 2010 wedding invitations here at the Delphine studio was aubergine purple. About half of the invitation orders we processed this year used some shade of purple. In design trends, our CHRYSANTHEMUMS design was one of the most popular designs this year. Normally I’m not much of a purple-lover, but I really do love the way this aubergine and crocus Chrysanthemums wedding invitation turned out.... |
We’re going a bit organic for today’s board, with inspiration from the fresh produce at a farmer’s market translated into a slightly rustic wine farm wedding. I’m crazy about this one! Jewel colours are huge news at the moment, but for me, when taking on big colours like purples and reds, the best way to avoid overload is to use natural materials and colours as much as possible. I love the idea of using vegetables in decor and even bouquets (see more ideas here) and eggplant and artichoke are two of my favourites (you can of course use the purple artichoke here too – and how gorgeous... |
