Welcome to the next installment of our Southern Hospitality feature! Each month, we pick a Southern city and an expert host. Our host shares their favorite items custom to that city that would be perfect packed into a welcome bag for family and friends at a weekend wedding. There’s nothing like Southern hospitality, especially at a destination wedding! This month, we chose to feature Asheville, the largest city in Western North Carolina and truly a unique city. I’ve been lucky enough to visit multiple times, experiencing everything from walking around downtown to visiting the Bilt...

  • This past weekend I met up with Leslie and Bruce at the North Carolina Arboretum for their engagement session. This was the first time I’d gotten the chance to meet them but they made it so easy. Leslie and Bruce are such a sweet, caring, and  loving couple. They spent the entire session cuddling each other and laughing - their 8 year friendship and 2 year relationship was evident. These two have a bond that only years of togetherness create. Leslie and Bruce, it was wonderful spending the afternoon with you and I cannot wait for your wedding next month! Bruce helped design Leslie’s ring...

  • Leslie + Bruce met their freshman year at a program called “Wilderness Experience,” a 5 day backpacking, climbing, kayaking, camping trip. They were friends for 7 years before they realized that they were meant to be together. They are absolutely adorable together and I love the way Bruce + Leslie look at each other, so caring, loving, and sweet. Leslie + Bruce did an awesome job at including small details of the wedding around their relationship and the bridal party and parents made some hilarious toasts as well about their relationship and their love of each other and their mutual love f...

  • I love these two. Really, there’s so much I could say about them I don’t even know where to start. I met Blane a few months ago when I moved to Asheville and immediately adored her, when she and Mike got engaged I knew I had to shoot their engagement session. Blane + Mike are so quirky together and you can tell they’re completely at ease and comfortable with each other. We spent the entire session talking and laughing, which these two are complete pros at. It’s impossible to be around them and not be smiling and laughing… they’re infectious. After shooting their engagement session ...

  • Last month Tiffany + Dustin tied the knot at the Biltmore Inn at Biltmore Estates.  Tara Jordan, of Weddings With Tara, did an amazing job with all the details for this beautiful, intimate fall wedding. Gorgeous flowers by The Bloom Room. First look with a perfect Blue Ridge Mountain, Asheville view. Sarah, as always, I loved spending the day with you and had a wonderful time second shooting Tiffany + Dustin’s wedding! e-mail kate • follow kate on twitter • become a fan on facebook ...

I received such a sweet email from Wendy last week, explaining that she was inspired by our ring bearer pillow and used the fabric throughout her own wedding. So when she sent over the pictures of her wedding, I could hardly wait to share them with you!Wendy and Stephen are such a beautiful couple, and their attention to detail is inspiring. The couple was married at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC which is an amazing place in itself. Wendy incorporated the green damask fabric in the aisle runner, monogrammed pillows, table runners and even the cake! I've listed some of the couple's v...

  • Ain’t gonna lie to you. Was a bit giddy over this one.  It happens.  It’s remarkable that it still does but when a wedding is this cool and eclectic, I can’t help myself.  Brandon and Jenn make it look easy.  A wedding filled with personal style reminiscent of an Anthropologie window, incredible florals and decor, and silly party photos.  Wish you were there?  Yeah, me too.  Of course we have Cade Bowman to thank for that – how wicked are these photos?  Is there any element missing?  Nope.  Everything documented with perfect photographic artistry.  You’ll have to excuse m...
